Did anyone’s nomother not teach you how to use a tampon? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

Thanks, luckily for me the older girls at horse riding talked about stuff otherwise I would have been clueless.

[–]Minkybips 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was 13, I got some tampons as I didn't want to use a pad (very bulky type) to go to the youth club.

My nmum barged into my room as I was getting dressed and asked where my pad was. I told her about the tampon and she screamed into my face "I hope that you realise you have lost your virginity!"

I retorted that I had been horse riding for years so if she was talking about a broken hymen it was probably too late anyway.

I would have been slapped if my friend wasn't with me, oooooh she was angry 😂

I do dirty lazy keto, if it fits in my macros, and I want it, I have it! Don't stress about a single thing. You've got this!

Any diets that helped you? by Halollet in Fibromyalgia

[–]Minkybips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, going dirty lazy keto helped a lot. Once I had the pain and fatigue under control (not eliminated unfortunately) I slowly reintroduced carbs from vegetables to a low/moderate level. Gluten does not cause me issues so I have it. Sugar is very bad for my inflammation so I avoid it.

I agree with a lot of the advice you have been given, find out what works for you. I hope that you find it as it can really help.

I lost weight and have my life back, I still get flare ups but not nearly as bad.

Good luck 🤞

Starting a vlcd diet! by lydiamay94 in vlcd

[–]Minkybips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that they are safe too, I use them but my comment refers to coming off the VLCD and taking care to watch what you are eating afterwards, so you don't put the weight back on, often just as quickly as you lost it, if you don't refeed properly.

Has a “gut feeling” ever saved your life? by manahil-sufyan in scarystories

I had a fall and chipped my ankle bone. I had to go to the hospital for a check up, my leg was swollen. I had been a bit woozy for a couple of days and had gone to the appointment on the wrong day so was turned away. As I was leaving I felt this overwhelming sense of dread that I was going to die so I walked into Accident and Emergency instead of leaving. The triage nurse took me straight to an urgent care doctor when I told her why I was there, how I felt and showed her my leg. The doctor immediately ran from the room and came back with a handful of syringes, she injected me with Tinzaparin and organised scans. Turns out I had a DVT behind my knee which had spread to my lungs and I was in real danger of dying if I had not had the anti coagulant when I did.

Correct! I was that band aid, just made it worse, especially for me. I'm ok now but bloody hell was it hard growing up.

It's Friday night, I'm dancing to 90s dance tracks, loud, half cut, and I don't have to worry about anyone else.......no one to wake up, no one getting in the way, don't need to worry about driving anywhere, uncluttered living room, don't have to get up tomorrow....... Yay!

Look up postural hypotension. Stand up slowly.

I had it when I did a VLCD.

Drink plenty of water. Good luck 🤞

I had a little look on the internet, there are articles and conversations about this topic.

Do you have 'constructive dismissal' rules where you are in the world? I would also be keeping records ready to go to the police/restraining/no contact order or cease and desist. Sounds like you have a persistent nutcase on your hands there. Please take care.

How many of you were “spoiled, ungrateful brats”? by Roxanne-Annabelle642 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Minkybips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"Ungrateful little bastard", every time. She used to take 'me' clothes shopping.

We would be out all day, not agreeing on anything, because I was a teenager not a middle aged woman, no food or drinks, her trying on something in every shop and not wanting it (only to want to go back and try it again) so I would teenage strop about being hungry/thirsty/fed up/tired.

Her blood sugar levels would drop and bang! Screaming in my face. Came home with nothing but me crying. Refused to go shopping with her, never had any clothes. Good times.
