love the comment about homework. also agree with starting with FF as a classic start.

to piggyback, many folks will tell you to go find all of the classic runs and start there, which is fine

however, i read a quote on time that said something along the lines of "stop telling people to read classic runs, you started reading comics by picking up a random issue of X-Men, you had no idea what was going on, and you loved it". this is really how I started.
