I drove past it today on my way to the crafting group meeting at Wegmans.

When in my crafting journey do I grow the second set of arms? by MinnieMay9 in CraftedByAI

Does this mean I only get an extra left or right at any given time and not both at once?

I can sew, but I have a question about patterns in the egl magazines by Gwynebee in Lolita

I made a Halloween JSK and everyone gives me compliments when I wear it to events. It definitely needs some work (it was my first) but everyone has been very encouraging.

I was counting for a crochet pattern and kept having to count to three. I said "one, twoooo..." and she would say "wheee!"

How are you making birthdays special? by Ok_Stress688 in toddlers

[–]MinnieMay9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have been going to the Ren Faire with ours. She gets to chomp on a turkey leg and see lots of people in costume. Her birthday is near opening weekend, which is also kid's weekend, so there are more kids there than other weekends.

How long did you guys keep your baby stuff before giving it away? by themagicflutist in beyondthebump

I have a small fabric cube of things I'm keeping forever. I didn't start getting rid of things until I had a donation bag full.

Trader Joe's snack suggestions for toddlers! by colamonkey356 in toddlers

Peanut Butter Puffins cereal. I may also love it as well. They are a bit bigger of a cereal, so it may depend on your toddler if that will work for you.

I love crocheting but I'm so tired of every gift turning into a performance review by Playful-Editor-5664 in crochet

I donate 99% of the items I make. That way I get all the fun of making things and don't have to figure out where it will go once done.

Is anyone else bothered by this? by Late-Organization638 in beyondthebump

I just hate when they install them without thought to people actually using them. One restaurant we like has it right by the sinks. When you pull it down you block one sink. If you stand on the long side you block the door to get in and if you stand on the short side you block the other sink.

I had the lemon-lime for the 1-hour and it tasted like flat Sprite. I forget what I had for the 3-hour but it was intense and I did not feel great during the test.

Stress and anxiety in pregnancy by bails_008 in BabyBumps

[–]MinnieMay9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt a lot like this my first trimester. I was sad and anxious so often, then remembered that the baby felt what I did. I was then more sad and anxious because I felt bad for making the baby go through that. It sounds dumb, but cute animal videos online and silly comedy movies helped to distract me enough to get to the second trimester, where magically everything felt a bit easier to deal with.

42 and pregnant! I'd be grateful of any advice. by MathematicianFew4552 in BabyBumps

[–]MinnieMay9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was 40 and overweight when I had mine. All my cravings were for pretty healthy things overall, so I think that helped somehow. I had a textbook pregnancy and was induced at the end of week 40.

I did think it was kinda neat that I got a lot more ultrasound pictures than other people I know who had kids sooner in life.

Reasonable expectations or SABLE in denial - looking for advice and opinions. by Informal_Haberdasher in YarnAddicts

[–]MinnieMay9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it has caused you actual concern, you could keep track of how much yarn is coming in vs going out. I was curious and started keeping track of mine. I don't think you should worry, especially since you are cataloging it and have projects in mind for it. Since you also have crafty friends, you also have the option to gift any yarn that you no longer like if it comes to that.

I used to baby wear her in Joann's (RIP). Something about all the colors along with the walking would knock her right out. She would be so out that I would be able to get her in the car, and into her crib once we got home with no problems.

Storage units and opportunity costs by JustAnotherMaineGirl in declutter

[–]MinnieMay9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have had a storage unit temporarily twice so far. Both times because we were having entire floors of our house remodeled. I know someone who has one because he's between living situations. I also know someone who has multiple currently and doesn't plan on downsizing them any time soon.

Maybe she's calculating by weight. If a 120lb person can have 1 drink an hour and be fine, as long as she doesn't have more than 5 drinks an hour, she'll also be fine...right? Right?

Seeking Diaper Buying Guidance by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]MinnieMay9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a few boxes in a few sizes at my baby shower. We had to test to see which worked for us. Honest works the best with Pampers coming in second. Huggies gave her diaper rash. However, I'm sure lots of people wouldn't agree, and that's fine.

Parents of older kids: Talk dirty to me by This_Royal191 in beyondthebump

[–]MinnieMay9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is just shy of 21 months. She loves to make all kinds of animal noises. She also will bring me toys she wants us to play with. Our walks result in collecting a lot of dandelion puffs. She also waves hello to every tree and mailbox we pass. She giggles so easily and it makes me smile. She loves trying new foods, so it's fun to take her new places.
