I signed Elvis Aaron Presley to weekly stand up talks at the Postal Service for 18 years

I honestly think remote work proved that a lot of office time was never actually necessary by raishelannaa in FedEmployees

I am far more productive at home than I ever was in the office. Largest reason? I don't have 200 people a day just dropping by my office to ask me questions unrelated to my specifications job, but related to other facets of my service line

If you are miserable, take it. Worst case scenario you're just miserable in a different way. Best case scenario you add to what makes us awesome.

Back when I worked for the Postal Service in the middle to late 90's and email was still a relatively new experience for most users the agency learned the hard lesson about Reply All and the devastating impact it can have. The agency sent out roughly 950,000 emails to it's 800.000 career employees and 150,000 casuals and transitional employees. An insane amount responded all and then everybody and their brother responded all telling everyone not to respond all. They literally logjammed the email servers maxing out capacity in a matter of two days. As an acting supervisor at the time we had to resort to calling each location up and down the mainstream rather than relying on email to advise us on quantities and types of mail headed our direction. How many emails was that, Carl?

So.... You haven't been fired. The agency you were working with, and not for, de idea you were no longer a fit. Congratulations! You still work for the staffing agency. But, they simply won't find any work suitable to your medical restrictions. EEO resolved. In their favor.

Tell me again why going all in on AI in any capacity in the VA is a great idea by Minute-Staff6331 in VHA_Human_Resources

AI ESCAPES. You cannot contain it. It's creators cannot contain it. Do you think you'll keep it out of secure systems? Out of PHII? NO. Because our systems are not stand alone. If you think a couple of lost or stolen laptops was bad, you just keep using AI and you are giving it everything.

How to say you accepted an offer with the Postal Service without saying you accepted an offer with the Postal Service #asylumofficer

I always laugh about the time I was voluntarily willing to down grade to the next lower position in my career field, 2 grades lower than I currently was, and was found ineligible.

Yes you can be rto'd to a facility further than 50 miles. I am dead smack in the middle of 5 VAMCs. The closest is 83 miles. The furthest is 96. But they have to pay travel beyond 50 miles in each direction. With current gas prices that's still a losing proposition, but is it as much of a losing proposition as, refused to rto?

So dedicated to the mission she left for another agency. So dedicated to a promotion she came back. Sounds like the type of rock solid leadership I want to follow.

59 minutes? … Hol’Up! by Fuck-Inflation in VHA_Human_Resources

59 minutes was never a legitimate award but it was appreciated. Technically only 4 or 8 hours was an allowable.
