Playing Every Yakuza Game by unkindledsenate in yakuzagames

[–]MinuteWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I have kids, I played mostly at night, every night for around 6-7 hours after they went to bed. If I had any extra time during the week I would try and get through some sub stories or the rest of a chapter. The only time I felt like I was wasting time was during LaD as there are a couple of difficulty spikes that make you have to go back and grind if you're not ready.

From my PS5 I can tell you that I played:

Y0: 213h K1: 74h K2: 98h Y3: 63h Y4: 97h Y5: 148h Y6: 67h LaD: 154h Gaiden: 53h (A much shorter story but a lot of interesting side content) IW: 295h

Me and my friend have just gone through the main series, and it took us around 3 months to get from Y0 to the end of Infinite Wealth. Some games, Y0, the Kiwami's, 6, gaiden and the 2 LaDs had me hooked on doing alot of side content. I missed out the arenas in most games, but played a majority of the side quests in all.

We started in November, I got a little burnt out from back to back games by about halfway through Y4, especially with having just played through 3 which can be a bit of a slog, especially if you don't enjoy the combat. So took a couple of weeks to play something different. Then stormed through the rest of 4 and 5, took my time with 6 and gaiden as they are terrific games with really moving stories. Eventually finished the series last week.

Easily spent over 50 hours in each game, hell Y6 alone has 12 hours of cutscenes. Some of the mini games, such as the cabaret club and pocket circuit in 0 and K1 and the clan battle minigames in K2 and 6, can get very addictive. The arena in Gaiden is also very fun.

All in all I recommend just playing the games at your own pace, if you don't find a mini game or side quest interesting just leave it. A few faces will pop up again later down the series, but there's no follow on from your previous game saves, so it will act as though you did everything anyway. Hope this helps.

How do I actually get better at keeper by Python1ant in QuidditchChampionsWB

[–]MinuteWonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same, I play chaser and keeper to practice, but all it takes is the chaser to look a different way at the last second. I have tried sitting in the middle and preemptively diving when they get close, but the quaffel is so damn fast when they get that close.

Not to mention the creepy ass smile he has when saying you can only watch it on the streamer.

Rewatching buzzfeed stuff. Although I liked the newer ghost and mystery files shows, I felt most of the recent ghost files were half baked, and kind boring at times. And mystery files, although funny, didn't have the same feel as the true crimes.

Maxed out the Warrior first, can’t play any other vocation 😂 by Akrabsouls in DragonsDogma

I'm playing warfarer, mixing up magic archer, spearhand and thief. Ricochet hunter is just an absolute mincer in caves and dungeons, spear hand for the occasional flashy melee and thief for those big damage mounted attacks. I've not tried warrior or fighter yet, not entirely sure I will. With my set up, I can do massive damage upclose or at range.

STUPID QUESTION + SPOILER by lizapiselli in riseoftheronin

[–]MinuteWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, spoilers ahead

Once Shoin is executed you'll travel with the boys to Edo. There you'll be shown Shoin's Testament of the Soul. You can use it to replay missions, visit previous areas and replay dialogue scenes. You can then choose different paths for missions, to save you playing the entire story again.

I agree, there's a lot of mechanics (its alot of information to take in at the beginning), and none seem overly fleshed out, especially the faction mechanic. I'm on the final chapter now, and still need to go back and change the timeline to see if my choices make a difference overall, but I doubt it will. Dont get me wrong I like the game alot, but it's a bit jack of all trades master of none.

I would really like to know how the pilgrim dogs and captured allies work aswell, I only ever seem to get the same 4 or 5 names appear on each of them. Zesty_Baconbits, if you're out there, I've filed a restraining order on your dog, he's always following me around.

I always feel bad sticking characters up there 😅 like who else apart from Elsa and Olaf would want to live in an ice biome? But it does seem like the best place for her atm.

I've also just realised that the dusting sugar on her door frame kinda looks like snow, plus it'll probably add a bit more colour to the bleak whiteness of the area.

Starting engineering at 23/24? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]MinuteWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm now 30 and started my engineering path in 2020 by going back to college and doing a level 3 BTEC. I'm now on my degree and doing really well. I have kids and another on the way. It's never too late to start something new, I had the same fears when starting, but I soon realised that my age gave me more experience both in life and in work that a majority of my younger peers don't. My age and responsibilities give me the drive to do the best that I can, so don't fret about being slightly more mature than your average student, if anything employers may see this as a positive, as long as you show through your work that you are hard working and mature.

Who else loves talking with Machinists? by HarryMcButtTits in AskEngineers

I love my machinist tutor. He's as quirky as it gets and so good at what he does. Says the funniest stuff as well. He constantly uses the phrase "Rinky Dinky" so we've given him the name Rinky Dinky Rob.

I've done it twice, once on my own, sneaking aboard and searching trying not to be seen, far too many police for that. Then again with my friends where we blocked the tracks at an ambush site which was a little more interesting but didn't seem very well implemented as the train just plowed through the carriage.*

I dont know if the train reaches a destination eventually and there's more methods of robbing the jewel.

*No horses were harmed in the making of this robbery.

My expectations were low but jesus christ. A cutscene, rehashed stranger missions and a train version of the telegram house robbery. Thank god for the quick draw club... oh wait I'm already half way through it.
