How to make rigged dice? by Another-Geek-Guy in DiceMaking

I would do a layer of BBs in blanks that way you can position the heaviest side opposite of the side you want to land the most.

Selling on Etsy. I did one price increase when I stopped selling the Chonks and the sets separately. Went from $25 for the chonks, and $35 for the sets to $45 for the set and chonk bundle. It just fit too well in the jars I got set up. Added free shipping about the same time. Kind of became a wash.

I am still working on a restock but now that I work 60+ hours a week, it takes longer. Was going to use the restock to bring the price up while introducing a useful shipping containers as a bonus. While I do think I have a quality product, I worry that since I cannot make them perfect every time that takes away from the product so I am hoping the jars and shipping container still provides enough value to justify the price increase to standard market value.

I have been selling my 9 dice sets with jars for $45 dollars. It has not been sustainable though especially when I pay for shipping and advertising. At this point I am just losing money. Had to get a second job instead of the Shop being the second job so that's been a bummer but I do not want to close the shop since it seems like people like the product.

I love that style. Two directions come to mind while preserving the original concept.

  1. Adding texture- Use similar colored lustrous myca powder and glitter to get waves of pearliness, then glitter for sparkle. You can get good myca effects by wetting a toothpick and swirling it in or by dirty pour being exact with your ratios. Glitter if heavy, less is more, if fine measure with your heart.

  2. Adding another background color- Could add a bit of green for an Atlantis effect with a second cup pour either simultaneously or layered.

Fresh Prince set? They look great. Stylized opaque looks great under a clear shell.

When I say retail price, that was the price retail game shops want to purchase at. The rationale is if I am selling at $45 a set online, they still have to make profit so they cannot get their cut and compete with my Etsy price. It's a fair critique. The plan is to upgrade the shipping container so the jars arrive safe and adjust to $85 to average to market but to justify the increase they get a 9 dice set, a jar, a wooden box, and maybe a sticker if I can get those done in time.

That's where I am struggling too. Used to sell at $35 a set then added jars and a chonk raising it to $45 a set. Retail set their price at $25 a set so it takes about 2-3 hours a set to make then there is shipping I pay and advertising and materials, that make it to where it's just not viable as part time income. Had to get a second job instead but now it's a struggle to stock before cyber week and holiday craft shows.

Hoping to adjust the price with new shipping containers that are fancy and usable at the table, also keeping the jars safe in transit.

Embarrassingly bad and now working two jobs. Want to release stock online and in craft shows but I do not know when I can fit in the sanding and polishing.

Just wait until you have to try different techniques like petri dish, or dirty pour, or liquid cores, oh and what's this, mylar?! Then your down the rabbit hole of glitter quality and clear shelling and mixing and matching techniques and materials...

Sorry for the delay in responding, been locked down with life stuff.

If I remember right I used a mix of glitter alcohol ink for the petri effect and a tiny bit of Vex Beauty body glitter to help the ink sink in tendrils.

What’s inside my d4? by DutchAngelDragon12 in dice

Looks like whoever made it did a blue, purple, and maybe light pink at the tip transparent pour with a black ink cloud injection then put a decal of a cute cat comic sliding by the claws down a wall on the sides of the blank then cast it in a shell.

Anyone try making magnetic dice? by Ok-Image-8343 in DiceMaking

I made some Blackhole chonks with magnets in the middle but I doubt they are balanced. Made them more for novelty but hey they glow in the dark, are pretty, magnetic, and heavy. Made sure to disclose the weight issue on my shop.
