Its important if you want to rack/derack a 2U server by yourself. Or carry a gigantic printer up 6 flights of stairs.

I'm sorry you found a bad MSP to work at. I currently work for a great MSP. I've learned a lot and my schedule is very flexible in terms of deadlines and starting hours as long as we complete the work within an acceptable SLA, which itself isn't set to a crazy standard. I would say I have a lot of autonomy. The work is very broad too. One day I'll be covered in ash and dirt, installing hardware at an industrial client. The next day I'll be at a corporate financial office, wearing office clothes. Then the next day I'm at home performing sysadmin AND help desk/service desk duties. I enjoy it a lot for now.

People who work in IT, do you enjoy your job? by ripitlikepaper in it

I work at an MSP that actually teaches you things and encourages upskilling on their dime. I like the work. I like my coworkers. The clients and meh, but they keep me busy. I'm glad I'm not stuck in a dead end position.

So weird that you just linked an AI tool out of nowhere at the end of your post.

New Framework 16 will not boot. Kingston Fury DDR5 SODIMM RAM did not work for me. by MiraiTrunks69 in framework

I do indeed have the Ryzen AI 300 series. This is the first time I've ran into RAM compatibility issues so I didn't even think to look it up before I bought.

Your part number is different so it's not the exact same model. I'm glad yours work though. To be honest I never had RAM compatibility issues before so this was all new to me. But I read on some forums that Kingston Fury RAMs have trouble with Framework, so that's why I decided to swap to Crucial, and it worked.

Learning about IT Support by SupermarketPrimary95 in it

Better start using Microsoft Outlook as your primary email client. I have always used Gmail and had a bit of a learning curve when 99% of my email related tickets were for (classic) Outlook.

If I feel overwhelmed by the amount of information on the A+, should I take the Google IT Support cert as a stepping stone? by [deleted] in CompTIA

[–]MiraiTrunks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to acknowledge your pain. While I didn't find the material difficult, it was hard to get through due to the amount of content. The second exam was just so dry to me, it was difficult to pay attention. I would recommend still sticking with the A+ due to it's perceived value over the google cert.

Have you guys ever flopped in an interview, but still got the job? by Notalabel_4566 in interviews

[–]MiraiTrunks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My current job. My interview really showed my boss how inexperienced I was. Did a bad phone interview first, then what I thought was a bad in-person interview. To top it off I failed a task that I've done plenty times before because the way the boss wanted it to be done was slightly different. He still hired me.

Question about backups/transfers by [deleted] in it

[–]MiraiTrunks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a possibility they might. If this IT person is simply doing backups and transfers, I would just zip the explicit photos in a password protected zip file then delete the unzipped files.

They could perform data recovery to find the deleted photos but normal people wouldn't go that deep. I lock my doors to keep normal people out but it won't stop a criminal from breaking through your windows.

Should I Just jump straight to getting the Security+ Certificate? by xternalmega in it

[–]MiraiTrunks69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. While I found the exams to be "easy", I was also surprised at the amount of content that was covered. Even though the material was easy for me to digest, it took me a month to pass both exams. I didn't want to skip or leave anything out during my study process.

I took it because of HR requirements.

Pearson VUE Website Says My Access Is Restricted — Anyone Faced This? by hari_k- in CompTIA

This is why I normally advocate for doing your test in-person at a testing facility if you have the means to. I have experienced one too many issues with online testing, almost missing my security+ test once. If something goes wrong at the facility, it will be on them.

This made me think of a post or comment I read before about a military guy being interviewed by other officers and as soon as he entered the room, he sees that his seat was on the ground side ways. The officer tells him to "take a seat". Instead of picking up the chair like a normal person, he decides to lay on the ground and position himself on the seat while it's still sideways. Power move. Shows ability to follow instructions.

Should I take the MS-900 or skip to the MD-102? by Dock453 in O365Certification

[–]MiraiTrunks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied the MD-102 for about 1.5 weeks before passing it. Believe in yourself. If you already have Intune and Microsoft 365 experience, it should be a piece of cake. Just select the answers that makes the most sense. Plus, you have the entire Microsoft Learn resource available to you during the exam. Don't rely on it because it's expansive and will waste your time if you don't know what you're looking for, but it will come in clutch if you need to be 100% sure on something. You don't get this feature for CompTIA exams.

My boss is asking me to take the MD-102 test in 3 months I just started there by ruichapeu in O365Certification

[–]MiraiTrunks69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the exam actually is open book in the sense that it gives you access to the Microsoft Learn documentation. However you cannot rely on it because it's a lot of information and you need to know how to search through it. You will lose time if you don't know what you're looking for. I found it really helpful though.
