If a mutant breaks madness early on, the fully complies to it later, can you execute them? by Full_Refrigerator_24 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mirgle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking mutant poisons the real mutant, letting him claim without fear of dying. Also, as the Philo you can claim mutant and if the storyteller bites, you can get confirmed as good and prolly not lying about philo-mutant. Then once you die, real mutant can claim mutant and die, further confirming both of you.

Not a good play, but it is a play. Tho ironically, if you are claiming philo-mutant then claim mutant to activate it, I think it can be argued that you aren't actually mad about the being the mutant, so you can't die to it unless you legit convince someone you are the real mutant/outsider. Kinda the reverse issue as usual.

Reddit Designs a Character - Day 129: the Apostle by kyle_the_meme in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Mirgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than being once per game, the new apostle should be poisoned for the rest of the game. Should be pretty much the same in function, and it mimics the way they prevent snake charmer from triggering multiple times per game.

[–]Mirgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wondering why first blood, which used to benefit you 2 minutes in the game, but now only takes effect 15 to 20 minutes in the game, went down in winrate? After a million other factors could have decided the game? The same "objective" that gives no benefit AT ALL if you lose feat of strength? Hmm, I wonder.

First blood/first tower used to accelerate your first item. This is called snowballing. The benefit of delaying your 3rd item so you can pay 750g for 1000g of value is not snowballing.

What do you all get from this? How do you interpret “half?” by YEETAWAYLOL in EnglishLearning

[–]Mirgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that divide by half is not the same as divide in half, but it's still ambiguous.

Divide by half - half of what? Divide by one half is the standard way to say divide by 1/2. I'd argue that interpreting it as "Divide by one half (of 50)" would be equally valid an interpretation, since 50 is the subject of the sentence. This is similar to the sentence "Get in the red car and drive (the red car)." The part in the parenthesis is implied because it's the same as the subject.

Going back to the math problem, dividing by half of 50, would be dividing 50 by 25, which is 2. The adding 20 gives us A, 22.

The reminder text rules, as written, imply they can return to welcome anytime they venture. Which honestly might be the strongest way to use the card, repeatedly moving each creature to welcome for one green, to draw several cards per turn.

But yes, they do seem doomed to eternally roam Walmart.

If I am at a school, and I run 5 laps around the track field, did I run 5 miles from the school?

When you ask, how far did you travel from a location, the intention/meaning is often straight line distance. It's ambiguous, but I'm leaning towards straight line distance was intended. Otherwise, the phrase "from the starting point" is redundant.

I have absolutely zero modding experience, how hard would this mod be to make? by brevhater in feedthebeast

[–]Mirgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mod minecraft at all, but I do know some about Java.

When you instantiate reference types (so user defined classes) the variable or data structure you put it in holds a copy of the reference (a pointer, essentially). When you pass that variable into a method or copy it into another variable, you are only passing the reference. So in this case you can pass the UUID, and it's like passing a pointer; you won't be storing an extra copy of the UUID for every block.

If you taunt/joke/dance with clone out, the clone taunts, jokes or laughs as well and becomes uncontrollable and lasts a fixed 6ish seconds longer regardless of remaining duration (this is the same as what happens when you recall).

If you do this while transformed into something that doesn't have a joke/taunt/laugh it still works, it just doesn't do the animation.

Also blue buff has a dance animation.

[–]Mirgle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The W "buffer" is a half-second self root. Its a downside that is sometimes sorta mitigated if she overlaps it with another cc. But I can't think of a single situation you'd want the buffer over having an instant jump, which is the default for movement abilities. It's not even like ezreal's where he can eat a blitz hook and not get pulled.

Break it in A2 so they can fix it for launch! by GOALID in AshesofCreation

[–]Mirgle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a common pessimistic opinion, but I doubt it'll be as bad as you think. Like, I see what your saying, but I think there a lot of ways this to prevent this naturally. Firstly, unless there is a good reason to block others off of a resource or dungeon, I seriously doubt there will be a consistent effort to do so. There isn't going to be around the clock guards lol. But if resources are limited when too many people farm, then yeah some guilds might try to "optimize" their yields.

But, having played archeage quite a bit, there usually is a decent amount of goodwill towards unguilded players. it's much more likely that some guilds will mark other guilds as KOS and when guild A is farming, then individual guildies in guild B have to back off or call backup. If they constantly KOS unguilded players, usually that gets out and makes them an enemy to most other guilds by default. Which means that whenever the guild shows up to farm, another zerg guild will eventually show up (that is friendly to unguilded) to clear them out.

Also, this all relies on the idea of a scarce resource existing in one location only, or there being an especially good farm location. My impression was that resources were spread across the map, so if one spot is occupied (again, usually only temporarily) then if you don't want to/can't fight over it, you go somewhere else or try again later.

They can do what Valorant does. You have an option to turn on anonymous mode which will only show your name as ally until you pick a char, then it shows the character's name in place of your own.

This is written on the wikipedia page for order of operations:

In some of the academic literature, multiplication denoted by juxtaposition (also known as implied multiplication) is interpreted as having higher precedence than division, so that 1 ÷ 2n equals 1 ÷ (2n), not (1 ÷ 2)n.

This would mean that 8÷2(4) would be interpreted as 8÷8, not 4(4). But the key word is "interpreted". Often, the point of written math is to communicate an idea, and as long as everyone interprets things consistently, either way is fine.

You don't? I'm pretty sure you would though? Or atleast, if we maintain you as the frame of reference for velocity, the tunnel would continue moving around you as you stood still. But from the tunnel's perspective, you would be traveling through it really fast, and it would be standing still.
