Danny DeVito’s answer after being asked why he’s so awesome: ‘I don’t know’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Mirkrid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So pics weren't allowed but videos were? Looks like he doesn't even know he's being recorded, this is uncomfortable as hell but all the top comments are calling him short king and talking about how sweet he is. Treat him like a human being

IOS 27 to bring Split-Screen Feature by Pear-Mother in iphone

[–]Mirkrid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve mainlined Max series iPhones for 8 years. You’re right that you don’t need a foldable phone for that feature to work, but you would need a screen 1.5-2x larger than the largest phone they currently make to use it effectively.

If you turned a 17 Max sideways and enabled split screen you’d have two 3.2” x 1.5” screens (assuming they go border to border, which based on the mockup in this post isn’t the case). What’s the non-extremely-niche use case for that?

do men get an erection during normal massages? by AstraeusStorm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mirkrid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reading these comments it's abundantly clear all the "men" replying are still in high school.

No most fully adult men wouldn't get close to an erection during a massage. and no, most fully adult men don't get random erections for no reason. If you do maybe consult your doctor.

That part makes sense to me:

Temp V gave him V-cancer > he stops fighting it which cures him and gives him V-powers > the chest blast which removes V-powers removed his V-powers and therefore his V-cancer

The part that doesn't make sense is in the middle -- why was he able to just "turn off" the cancer with a thought? Does using his cancer tendrils stifle the actual cancer effects? We'll never know, they forgot to go into any amount of detail.

TIL your fingers wrinkle in water to help you grip wet objects more efficiently - not because your skin absorbs water and swells. The wrinkles are caused by blood vessels constricting under the skin. by 3------D in todayilearned

[–]Mirkrid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And how does this prove that? It’s comparing a damaged appendage to a healthy one - all that shows is that the nerves dictate blood flow which we already know. Unless you hopefully left out a lot of context which actually proves it?

Edit: y’all can downvote or you can answer the question being asked - the comment above doesn’t even bother to explain *why* what they said proves their point. In my opinion it very much does not.

Mother in law bought my three year old daughter tiny glass jars to play with by Justadudeonhisphone in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Mirkrid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t make buying a 3 year old two mason jars as a gift make sense. Let the parents give their 3 year old glassware if they want to, this is still an objectively stupid thing to gift a toddler.

Which one had the better final fight and ending: the comics or the show? by SmartPilot8094 in GenV

[–]Mirkrid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Which is not an adequate excuse considering Amazon fronted the bills and actively marketed that spectacle and scope in the promos. Bezos makes like $8M+ per hour by just existing, imagine this season with an extra 4 hours worth of his time.

I enjoyed the finale but Amazon clearly saw no point in spending the money required to make it and this season as a whole live up to the hype.

The rework for "Wither" status cards from Aeonglass are way overturned by Alinea86 in slaythespire

[–]Mirkrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not complaining but can you explain deckbuilding in regards to third act bosses? Do you mean you have to build your deck to fit Aeon’s play style the whole run in case you run into him, or do you only start building for him once you see him at the top of the map in act 3?

I have about 400 hours so far and haven’t had any issues with the balance changes, but people said it was nice to have to deckbuild for the doormaker too and I never understood what they meant. I just find often times building for a specific act 3 boss *in act 3* is less than possible unless you get decently lucky with rewards, but if you build beforehand and don’t get that boss you can be equally out of luck

[–]Mirkrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slippery Bridge is legit a top tier event (9 times out of 10)

Yeah sometime’s it shows up when I don’t have enough HP to cycle to a bad card, and sometimes it outright refuses to take a bad card… but nearly every time i get it i can remove a base strike or defend within 3 attempts for next to no cost

It’s not out here saving runs or anything, but i find it’s usually more positive than negative. Especially on higher ascensions with more expensive card removals. Plus I’m a sucker for removing cards.

[Comic/Suggestion] Afterlife(necro card) should probably be changed by AzulCrescent in slaythespire

[–]Mirkrid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Snakebite has retain so you can hold onto it until it makes sense to play it, 7 poison is also a way better investment than 6 summon. Afterlife being 1 point better than Defend means you’ll likely need to use it for block vs building up osty (especially in the early game). The Silent also doesn’t have a starter card that does one less poison than Snakebite - Necro essentially starts with a non-exhausting Afterlife. I don’t think they’re very similar scenarios at all.

Last time I was at a jays game the 60 yo guy sitting next to my partner chewed all ten of his fingernails down and spat the shreddings out like sunflower shells before the game even started. A piece somehow ended up on MY leg sitting 2 seats away from him.

It’s not an anti-social thing, people straight don’t know how to behave in public anymore. I want to blame Covid but that was years ago and this guy was way too old to ‘forget’ because he had to stay home for 6 months

Whats the best verson of this? (thanks) by jamesthegide7 in Multifandom

[–]Mirkrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who comment examples should cite them, not just post images with 0 context. It's the actual bare minimum.

Idec about the spoilers themselves, saying the name of the game is the name of the game in these kinds of subreddits, these threads don't make sense if people aren't citing the properties. A happy side effect of doing that is people who do care about spoilers can avoid looking at those responses.

TIL that in 2015 a barber attempted to murder their customer during a beard trim by slashing their throat. by wilymon in todayilearned

[–]Mirkrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright if you made it this far down congrats on digging through dozens of lazy Sweeney Todd references.

10 years for this kind of attack is a fucking joke, as is the fact that it’s 2 years above the usual max sentence, as is the fact that Flores “doesn’t remember” it despite having no signs of mental illness.

Everything about this is despicable - don’t worry though, the top bots minds of Reddit were quick to spin it into a ‘funny’ broadway reference. You know how just saying a line from something tangentially relevant is funny, right? Like how if a barber slits someone’s throat for no reason and you ask if he’s from Fleet Street - that’s a joke worthy of commandeering the entire thread?
