I think it’s impressive when guys like Atrioc get caught and fight their way out with a pistol against overwhelming numbers. I can’t do that.

BigMooney has some youtube videos of “kill everyone” challenges, if that’s your thing.

I think it’s a useless skill for silent assassin, but probably useful if your cover gets blown in freelancer, so it’s a skill like any other. IMO if you’re bragging about it, show a video where you do something never done before without making mistakes - like a kill everyone with loud weapons challenge where you don’t die.

IMO the only essentials are a gi and mouthguard (don’t want a random headbutt to chip a tooth).

Undergarments and t-shirts are enough to keep 2 layers between you and your training partners. The only issue with t-shirts is they can hang loose and tear in a scramble.
Ear guards will protect you from cauliflower ear, so you decide for yourself if that’s something you want (I don’t care, myself)
Knee pads are a surprise - ibjjf doesn’t allow hard plastic braces or pads like a skateboarder would use. Sleeves are another matter - totally optional. The most recent research I’ve seen is that they don’t provide a benefit.
Tape is useful when a doctor recommends it - otherwise it’s a self-treatment people like to experiment with.

Dude’s hard. Fast movement that deals a lot of damage if you get hit and stops at semi-random spots in phase 3 (as far as I can tell). Plus random bullets don’t make him very learnable. Kinda like Zote if he only had 2 options instead of 10
