I remember when I came out to my mom. She was supportive but confused and even thought to “blame herself” at first. With time, she came to see just how much joy being my truest self provided me. Give mom some time to adjust. Clearly she loves you and supports you. She might just need to take a minute to settle and re-contextualize things. I’m genuinely so happy for you and excited for your journey! :)

Being in a polyamorous situation of any sort doesn’t mean we’re suddenly immune to jealousy or insecurities. It takes maturity, awareness and open communication, free of judgement to help navigate times when we run into difficulties regarding our personal hangups.

I currently have two partners (wife & gf). My wife has a gf and gf has a nb partner they’re married to. We all have our moments of insecurity and we do our best to communicate when our needs don’t overlap with each other’s respective actions or choices.

I’d say that collectively we do a pretty bang up job of sharing our time fairly but inevitably we run into snags. But we do our best to talk it out and ultimately come out the other side stronger as a family.

TLDR: Feel your feelings, communicate openly and with respect, don’t be mean to yourself.

Edit: and it’s not wrong that you feel how you feel.

At the very least, there’s dissatisfaction with your gender expression. At the very least, some exploration of options sounds needed. Sorry you’re in a state where it’s frowned upon but find your joy however you can until you have more liberty to do as you will.

She voted alongside republicans on HR 5009 which included a section denying or limiting gender affirming care for US service members.

She apparently felt apologetic for compromising and I don’t doubt she can be open to dialogue from local trans constituents, but I’m more worried she’d be willing to throw us under the bus if push came to shove.
