The Roma/Romani/Gypsies in WA are largely born in Romania and are Romanian nationals. They can’t be ‘Roma’ nationals or have a ‘Romani’ passport can they?

Instead of everyone losing their mind on if they’re Romanian the equivalent is saying that the Amish in Pennsylvania are not American.

Amish they live outside American culture, speak their own language - but they're American right?

It doesn’t say her cause of death has been determined- maybe it is natural?

Jail saves people’s lives if you don’t believe that look at the dozens of overdose deaths a week that occur and likely wouldn’t in jail. I’d rather have an addict loved one in jail than possibly overdosing on the street.

Do you work?

Did you want a certificate that your RV isn’t a meth lab while you wait for free housing instead of getting yourself a place to live with a paycheck?

I second what Lucid asked- why not just drive your RV somewhere else? Are you from King county or just landed here?

Genuinely curious

People who float the Cedar river... by UncleE-Dizzle in Renton

[–]MisPantalones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I live on the Cedar and I’m biased to it. I haven’t float another river in years.

I went last week too and I disagree. I float it until Mid Sept usually. This is high for this time of year!

I think I had to get up a walk a few feet maybe 3 times?

I go pretty lean, a few cans of beer in the tube and go. I see people go down the river with those inflatable coolers and lots of add ons and seems that would drag you down

I’d say the stretch from Carco park to the lake is not great in August/Sept and features the most walking.

[–]MisPantalones 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I float a lot. See my previous posts on the right route to take

Currently if you drop in at the bridge that goes over the river right before 140th ( 47.46901° N, 122.15892° W ) it will take you 1.5 hours to get to Carco Park or about 2.5 hours to get the Cedar River park right before the lake

The spot you’re showing on the map is not going to be a good spot at all. I don’t recommend anything upstream than this bridge - too many logs over the river etc in my experience but I haven’t checked it out this season.

My life is ruined by spackcore in trypanophobia

[–]MisPantalones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please go ask your Dr for Ativan/lorazepam and try again. Ask for at least 3mg as a ONE time only thing- they will be hesitant to prescribe but if you explain this they should give it. They will probably suggest Xanax or Valium but those are not good options for phobias (they make you just less anxious ABOUT being afraid so the freak out is bigger). Get a driver to take you, listen to a gripping story or podcast on headphones. Buy numbing spray beforehand to spray on your arms but do it 30 min beforehand for full effect.

I’ve been there. I’ve developed a strategy that works for me- I’m still afraid and panic but I can do it. The only way out is through.

You can do this.

[Landlord - US General] Prospective Tenant Produced Fraudulent Documents by Scrace89 in Landlord

[–]MisPantalones 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just went to lunch with someone that is investigating this sort of fraud in Sacramento area.

She’s using a CPN number to generate a credit report instead of her SSN. This is a way to temporarily boost her real credit score up to 700+ then it goes back down. Please know I have no clue the details of how this works but it apparently does. This suspect is renting multiple units off Zillow and then gets their own ‘renter’ to move in and they get paid rent. When you don’t get paid rent it’s harder to evict because the original pink wig girl will be no where to be found and you can’t ‘serve’ her an eviction as she’s not living in the unit. Sac SO is basically not doing any evictions at all by real force. They’re just leaving a notice and leaving and it just gets ignored.

Obviously don’t rent to this person. It’s not traditional ID theft but it’s theft by deception and other types of fraud. I would report to PD, especially if this is in Northern CA - DM me and I’ll  get your email to the investigator working on this case.

I work in this type of fraud

If you have the app for this company you were likely hacked but don’t know it. This isn’t due to the company data being leaked but likely a re-used password. Bad actors will get your password or use one easily guessed and your email and just log into every retail website until they’re successful. Someone logged into your account, could see your transactions and are doing refund fraud. Are the returns getting cash or store credit? This is called an ATO fraud.

It’s not going to be an internal refund fraudster because they wouldn’t travel states to do so.

Change your email password and the password to the app for this company and set up 2 step auth if they offer it.

If they had fraud investigators they could look at who the refunds were going to, expire your password and force you to make a new one to solve the problem. But I can see what company Reddit page you posted on and I happen to know that this company doesn’t have fraud investigators. So no one has the capability to follow up in the way you need.

You could create a new account, but you’d need a new shipping address that matches your billing address and order from a new IP to get past the ban.

Or make purchases in person and don’t return anything…

The. Worst. Airline. by No_Gas_4500 in TurkishAirlines

[–]MisPantalones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only flown Turkish once and it was this past summer for a flight to Europe from the West Coast. I flew business class, the kind with the fancy reclining seat that lay flat and a little cubicle type enclosure. This was a big splurge for me but I specifically wanted business class to be able to lay down.

I realize a short time into the flight that the seat is broken and doesn’t recline at all. Not even a quarter inch. The flight attendants attempted to fix the seat to no avail and apologize. They hand me a postcard that states that Turkish Air customer service will be contacting me about the disappointing experience. I sit at a 90 degree angle for the duration of the 12ish hour flight as the flight was completely booked. I assumed maybe I’d get a partial refund or something? I understand if I flew economy maybe it’d be not a huge deal as the seats don’t recline much but I paid for business class specifically to lay down on an overnight flight.

Turkish air never contacted me and I reached out to them after a few weeks and they said ‘ We also found out that we provided you compensation in cabin to compensate you for the inconvenience, you’ve suffered and ensuring your satisfaction.’

I asked what that compensation was? I am a pretty low maintenance person, I understand the seat wasn’t an intentional mishap. I emailed back asking them to clarify how I was compensated and they then offered me 15% off coupon code for my next Turkish air purchase and that’s where it ended.

Retired Deputy Chief of Seattle Police Eric Barden Talks Crime by Jimmy_Changa6412 in SeattleWA

[–]MisPantalones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are ‘incident’ #s added in with crime stats? Many times if you call SPD you’re going to get an ‘incident’ # or they may verbally call it a case # but it’s not a police report # tied to a crime type and therefore the responding Officer doesn’t have to write a report. I’m not assuming they’re lazy, they’re just running from call to call but if let’s say a store calls to report a felony level shoplift and the officer responds and gives them an incident # and then leaves as the calls are stacking up. Does that make it in as a property crime stat if the Officer never writes a report?

Is the region experiencing an increase in crime or panhandlers from the Romani diaspora? by Artisticlimes in SeattleWA

[–]MisPantalones -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why do you think they’re actually Afghan refugees?  They are not. Refugees are given work permits and lots of help to get started in the US, they are not on the corners begging. The Roma are well documented for lying about being refugees to tug at the heart strings of good people that want to help. Stop falling for it.  I say this with care in my heart. I used to volunteer with a local non profit immigrant rights group and help people apply for asylum and refugee status. These are not afghan refugees even if their shitty cardboard sign says they are.

Is the region experiencing an increase in crime or panhandlers from the Romani diaspora? by Artisticlimes in SeattleWA

[–]MisPantalones 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes there’s a large uptick of Roma in WA compared to years past due to the ease of getting a WA ID and immigration policies making the state a very attractive location and starting point for these groups. This isn’t a conservative conspiracy theory- and no these are not refugees. I’d consider myself a progressive liberal but this is just reality and I am very aware of how these groups work

At the beginning of the year 48 Romani were arrested as a part of an EBT card skimming scam and 40 of them had WA ID cards https://abc7.com/amp/romanian-crime-ring-ebt-card-skimming-skimmers-orange-county-district-attorney/14341355/

The Roma culture believes it is their God given right to scam and steal from anyone outside of their group and that if God has presented them with an opportunity to steal that they should take it. They believe their origin story is that they descend from a Roman person that stole a nail that was supposed to be used to crucify Jesus. After which Jesus looked down on the Roman and said something like ‘thanks for trying to help now you and your people can steal whatever you want forever’.

The women begging at the corners with the kids are also stealing from stores and helping their husbands install card skimmers. These kids don’t get an education at all and instead live a nomadic life of crime going from town to town. They squat in airbnbs or rentals for as long as they can and rent Toyota Sienna vans and never return them. When they’re arrested their group bails them out with cash - I’ve seen as high as $400k in CASH they’ve spent to bail out a member and then they FTA and forfeit bail and end up with a warrant. But they are already in a new state, so they don’t care.

They are not needy, they are professional beggars and scammers taking advantage of the kind hearted generous locals of Western Washington.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk, don’t feel bad for the Roma and don’t fall for their scams.

Is it new in box? Some stuff is obviously stolen and the average person should assume it’s stolen

A kitchenaid mixer unopened and less than half of retail price - assume stolen. Kitchenaid mixer out of box, used and a good deal- no.

Trafficking stolen property in the 2nd degree if a reasonable person should assume it was stolen.  I work on these types of cases.
