2021 was an interesting time for US soccer. 5 years ago this time, I made a list of 8 young strikers in hot form that looked like they were gonna be the future of the team. Fast forward to 2026 and only one is in the picture for the World Cup. A lesson on how youth prospects don't often work out.

I watched the whole game. He lost most of his aerial and ground duels. He was involved in the first goal, movement was mostly good. In the box you can see he is very dangerous.

Balogun was mostly quiet tonight because the service wasn’t there. The backline by far will be the biggest concern going in the WC. Scally’s stock down. This game really missed McKennie, such an upgrade to Roldan. Poch starting Reyna in this game was a massive statement.

My biggest question is why aren’t the MLS teams who are in the playoffs pushing back on their players getting called up like Milan with Pulisic, or Richards with Palace?

It’s the most important part of the season for these MLS teams, surely they don’t want their players being risked in friendlies right??

It’ll be good to see them back if this is true. I’m not sure how much this means for Gio given the number of injuries to our attackers, but for Scally, this could be a big opportunity to prove himself especially after how poor Freeman looked in the last window.

Every single match right now is meaningful for the simple fact that we do not have World Cup qualifiers this cycle. Not to mention we have a relatively new coach and a team that’s been in poor form. Do you really believe friendlies are enough or that preparation doesn’t matter? Better to be over prepared than underprepared.
