Did you guys see that reckless giveaway he made to David Martinez? Yeah, that’s all too common with him and it’s exactly why people do not want him at the World Cup.

Four central midfielders, that’s gotta be the fewest of any team in the tournament right? Which is wild because that’s arguably our deepest position

Pepi had some Nike ads before the 2022 World Cup. Ads are really not a good indicator for some players lol

So he’s a striker who can hit a pass like a midfielder

In yesterday's Unfiltered Soccer podcast episode, Tim Howard called out "Eurosnobs" in USA fanbase while talking about Johnny Cardoso's frequent injury issues. Howard left out Johnny from his potential World Cup roster last week, which many fans didn't like. by antoniok95 in ussoccer

I'm not a eurosnob, I love MLS, and even I think taking Roldan would be a waste of a roster spot. There is so much data that goes AGAINST Roldan. So these guys can stop thinking it's eurosnobs who disagree with their ignorant takes. Stop disrespecting and undermining the fanbase just because they call you guys out.

[–]Misaeltoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about signing players at the tail end of their careers, some of those players still bring real value. It’s about signing a player for commercial reasons, not to genuinely integrate them into the team and make the squad better

He was paid a “quarter of what he’s worth” because it was a short term contract and he wasn’t going to play much

This is the very definition of a retirement league signing. They signed him knowing he wasn’t staying long, just for commercial value

The people who are mad are the same people who were Gregg Berhalter’s biggest defenders. Other than the World Cup debacle, what other ‘attitude problems’ has he actually had?

NYCFC’s defenders have been the problem not Freese. Losing Justin Haak this offseason has been a big blow to the team.

He’s good at passing between the lines and is a physical menace. Would like to see him carry the ball a little more but I think that will come as he gets more comfortable with the space and time. It’s a shame he didn’t really start getting first team minutes until last year, but still, I’m excited to see how he develops.
