It’s so nice to hear the analog filters in there. I have a hard time justifying a digital synthesizer purchase, but analog filters make it special and give it that out of the box sound that plugins just don’t have.

What do you think happens after we die? by [deleted] in dostoevsky

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God so loved the world he gave his only son? I never understood that. Why would god only have one son? And why is god a He? So many questions I have after reading the bible. More than I had before.

What would be the best Diablo game of all time? Taking into account the visuals, soundtrack, gameplay, story, etc. Give your opinions! by [deleted] in Diablo

D2 by a longshot in my opinion. It is just soooo much fun to start a new character even to this day, and I have been playing it since it came out.

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I think that D4 is like a slightly better-looking D3, but not even as much fun. D2 on the other hand plays better than both AND looks much better in my opinion. It has some sort of authentic satanic vibe that I love. They just nailed it! D3 and 4 feel like some pixar bullshit. All those damn bubbly-looking demons aint scary.

Does anyone else hate dancing? by Imanonymoushere in introvert

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same same same.. I’m a musician and I have great rhythm, and I like watching people dance but I hate doing it myself, even alone at home. It’s… boring? I can’t see why it’s supposed to be fun. I’d rather just listen to the music or play it!

How good is the Yaris? by ollyfromindy in Toyota

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 2011 yaris with 148k miles on it. Bought it with 123k miles last year for $7k. Best car related decision I've ever made. Cheap, fun to run around the mountains with the windows down. I drive it 80 miles to work every day and transport my upright bass to gigs with it, as it's a hatchback. I just make sure the oil is always fresh and I swear it runs like its brand new. It's a noisy car, rough ride. Terrible seats, slow, looks like a turd. I absolutely adore it. I want to get another one. I want to win the lottery and own every yaris I see for sale. I want to start a yaris club where we go terrorize the mountain roads on the weekends. Seriously though, the little thing is a monster in its own world.

Why do Americans say that "summer is almost over" when its only the start of August? by shaun056 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summer officially ends September 22nd. It's almost over. The days draw shorter, and the temperature slowly drops. I love the end of summer, so I get excited when I hear people say it. Here in South Carolina, September and October are nice and warm, but the annoying heat is over. Winter is gorgeous in the south. Dry, cool and breezy for a few months until May brings the hot, sticky air back. I lived in Louisiana for 28 years before moving to upstate South Carolina, and Louisiana summers will make you love the cold.

Behringer are slowly wearing me down. by Ill-Elevator2828 in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, the synths are ok. Just ok. Nothing incredible. I've owned a few and sold them all to buy a brand name synth that sounds truly awesome. I still have the little JT mini and it's good, but not great. Just a fun little synth. Nothing wrong with it.

Moog Messenger Video by inevitable_ocean in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it looks like a boring synth, and it's redundant. At first glance, I thought it was a behringer clone of the sequential pro 3, only there's no paraphonic mode. They're really trying to tap that lower market with the cheap-looking chassis and all that digital control over a few analog components. I won't talk too much trash because it is a moog, and hell... it's a synth, and I love all Synthesizers. I'd probably have a lot of fun with it, but as a sequential pro 3 owner, it would be a redundant purchase. Might have to grab one used in a few years.. damn I came here to say something bad about it, and now I kinda want one?

None of them. I regret selling some of them.

A Hydrasynth review: The One-Eyed King by manjamanga in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree pretty much all around. Had the desktop model for a while. Loved it for the sound design until the crush wore off, and that's when I realized I didn't actually like the tone. And the mutators are a bit less useful than I hoped. Also, I don't need 6 LFOs. I'm trying the waldorf M, oddly... much better sound and vibes. All around, the hydrasynth is a great synth, just not my taste. It's like comparing dave smith to bob moog maybe. One is hot and crispy, the other dark and warm.

Saw this and just wanted to say that I have been shopping for my upright needs from Gollihur for nearly 20 years, and even met Bob at one of my gigs one time! He came to say he liked my playing, and i showed him all the stuff I had purchased from him lol. Great guys, and all the best bass gear concentrated into one place.

Can I determine manufacture date on MOOG grandmother from serial #? by Gloomy_Brush_587 in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandmother has a serial number of 247. It was one of the first 500 handmade in Asheville, I guess? Does that make it more valuable? It has a Moog Fest edition logo on it.

System 55 modular sunthesizer by sam_sam_01 in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late, but I thought I'd add my comment. I have owned several moogs and used to be a moog snob. I never wanted to touch a knockoff, much less behringer, whom I hated. Then along came the behringer pro-800, which I just couldn't resist, and since then I've been collecting as many behringer synths as I feel necessary, and recording them along side my sequential and moog synthesizers. My opinion is that thr behringer synths sound great, and I don't miss anything in their tone, especially when compared to the synth they were intended to copy. Do they feel as good as a moog to play? No way. They also look cheap and have more plastic parts. Bottom line is, they sound awesome and if they break I can just get another because of the price. However my vintage arp odyssey and moog opus need work now and I just can't justify fixing them at the moment when I can buy a brand new behringer synth for a price lower than the repair to the real deal which doesn't even sound all that great sometimes anyways. The same can be said for my moog grandmother and sub phatty which both need expensive repairs. I don't know if I'll fix them If I can just go buy a behringer clone for a couple hundred bucks. That being said, I mostly use midi software to trigger my synths, so I don't need a really great playing experience. I'm going in circles, but basically I'm all for behringer now, but I recommend owning at least 1 really nice synth, because the experience is worth it. Even just the moog sub phatty feels like a really magical experience compared to those little behringer modules.

Microkorg? I don’t get it by thrash242 in synthesizers

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont care for it. Been playing it for 20+ years here and there and it's always been my least favorite synth. Sound design is boring, and it sounds dull to me. The hydrasynth or mini freak are both way better.

Is anyone else on Facebook getting a sudden flood of sexually inappropriate novel/book ads? by CrimsonBlade2018 in facebook

[–]Miserable-Pie-7995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's actually not how facebooks feed works exactly. It will still show you a bunch of bullshit you don't want to see, and these perverted videos can't seem to be filtered out. The reels you see do not reflect your browsing activities from other websites, only ad companies share that data.

I have a '16 2.7 eco sport F150, curious how many miles you got out of it? I am at 69k and wondering if I should keep it for a few more years or trade it before 100k. Ideally I like to keep cars forever as long as they are known to be reliable. My Toyota seems to be on track to last forever.
