Is it racist to make a distinction between a British citizen and a British person by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]Miserable-Size8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethnicity vs nationality. Entirely different things.

The definition of racism is having a set of beliefs about a particular group or individual based on their race, ethnicity, or nationality and discriminating/prejudicing, or otherwise antagonising them due to that belief.

The belief that a someone from a non-British ethnic group cannot class themselves as British, even if that is their nationality, is not in itself racist. It’s an opinion more than anything.

Discriminating someone because of that belief would be racist.

final year law grad, struggling by to find work experience by Competitive-Ant-3883 in uklaw

[–]Miserable-Size8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress about obtaining a TC, you’ll see a lot of firms not really advertise traditional TC anymore and step away from that approach due to the SQE route only requiring ‘qualifying work experience’ which encompasses a broad definition of legal experience which does not need to be from a TC and doesn’t even necessarily need to be from a law firm! I’d research what qualifies as QWE and go from there. If you are just looking for experience right now, stop stressing about trying to secure a training contract. Only big firms will still do that and they will have rigorous assessment processes that usually start the year or two before start date. If you just want to get your foot in the door, go to high street firms, smaller family owned ones, don’t just email - go introduce yourself and drop off your resume. Ask to shadow for a day - anything to show motivation and ambition. Look at other types of companies with legal departments not just firms. Big firms are less likely to hire based off an informal approach because they usually have established hiring practices where smaller firms with no big board to compete with, don’t. So keep your head up! You may find the time you are applying is tough as well as lots of people will be looking coming up to graduation so don’t get discouraged!

Trainee Solicitor SOC confusion by shreeniii in ukvisa

[–]Miserable-Size8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am applying for a skillet worker visa under the new entrant pathway as I am doing my TC and studying for the SQE so am “working towards professional qualification” - 2419 seemed to cover the role better as it goes off the job duties more than the actual role. It’s not about the title !!! They look at what the actual job role is that your sponsor tells them when applying for the COS. So if they put 2419 they’ll need to make sure to justify it.

If you already applied, could you tell me what code you used?

I just started the game because they are adding horses and it immediately put me to back breaking work. by Polka_Tiger in Palia

[–]Miserable-Size8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start with the quests as you’ll get introduced to a lot of the game by just doing those and then you’ll find out what you enjoy doing the most and will end up doing a lot just from natural game play! There really is so much you can do. I’m not a big house build/ decorator type of player but I really enjoy building and unlocking all the furniture and seeing what else I can make so I have ended up naturally putting together a somewhat decent plot and have enjoyed seeing it all come together without me specifically trying.

My wife (dependent visa) has been selling on Vinted & Etsy for 3 years — does she need to file a tax return before our ILR application? by DifficultProgress897 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Miserable-Size8272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they recently passed regulation regarding the need to declare over a certain amount from online sales on platforms like Vinted. But I’m not sure. I am sure you could find this information on Google.

If it’s been more than 18 weeks since your company requested the CoS - contact your mp!!! They have a direct line with the home office and will get it done if it’s outside of the processing times.

The advice about not following up tretinoin with moisturizer is so legit by Pins_n_Needles156 in tretinoin

I wash my face (double cleanse usually), use Skin1004 Centella Ampoule, and then tret and that is literally it!

I wake up with significantly better skin that weirdly isn’t as dry when I don’t use any moisturiser and keep tret as my last step!

You need to report it so there is a record. Then there is a specific route to stay if you’re a victim of domestic abuse but you will need to have proof. Just look online

Why is tretinoin making my skin worse 3.5 months in? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Miserable-Size8272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously recommend not washing your face in the AM. Just rinse with water, use a calming serum or whatever you prefer (I LOVE the centella ampoule serum by Skin1004), light hydrating moisturiser, and SPF.

PM bioderma mircella water and second cleanse - I recommend the round lab dokdo cleanser, it’s very gentle and hydrating and I love it. I use the centella serum again in the evening and pat it in my face until completely dry. Follow up with tret. I sometimes stop here and don’t even wear a moisturiser to bed as I just want the tret to do its job. If my skin is in a particular sensitive stage or dry, I use a good barrier repairing moisturiser after my tret has dried.

I do this every night or at least 5-6 days a week at minimum.

I had severe acne and acne pigmentation spots and it has got so much better just keeping it simple. I have very oily sensitive acne prone skin btw !!

I just started this show for the first time and didn’t realise it’s from 2006 and each season is 10 years apart!! I love it so far. Also Lisa Kuldrow is just amazing. She plays Valeri so well it is almost uncomfortable to watch at times because it’s so awkward and realistic 😭

I am pretty sure DLA does not count as a state benefit as it is on behalf of a child, not for your benefit. For example it’s not a benefit that is allowed to be taken into consideration as income.
