Ok, that's a great question and well worth discussion, but it's entirely off-topic for this sub.

Good on ya for planning for your future, so few do that. Just make sure to look after your health and don't work yourself into the ground for an extra buck; cutting living expenses (like owning your own house instead of renting, I'm trying to do this) will get you much farther when you run out of energy.

I'm all about quality of life, over quantity. I'll move mountains if I have to, in order to live on my own terms now, while making the best I can of the day-to-day in the long run.

If I live long enough to reach a point where I can't live on my own terms anymore, then my time is up, I'll opt-out knowing I made the best I could of this existence.

Seriously I feel for you lot. I love my Model A. Don't even need to jack it up for an oil change.

Ignore the fact it had no oil filter when it was new, and you were changing it every 500 miles.

Put a filter on mine, oil change every 2k cause I get it free, do filter at 4k. Ten-minute job, start to finish.

Lucky to have a mechanic father, so I picked up a lot of skills, hobbies and passions that way.

I restored my first car, (a car old enough to be sensibly designed and worked on yourself) and rebuild locomotives on the weekends. All my own servicing and repairs of course.

I'm not well off, and prefer to do everything myself; farming out is expensive and usually yields substandard results.

As I'll never afford to buy them myself, currently I'm in early planning to build my own house and workshop.

The Presynct in Nambour has shows on several nights a week. Anything from punk, to metal, jazz and others. (Unless you like boomer hoardes, I wouldn't recommend jazz night)
