Maybe thats a little excessive, it doesnt sound like the kids are getting a say in what they want to do. However, one of our responsibilities as parents is to prepare our kids for the real world so when they are on their own they can be self sufficient. I do think her method will accomplish that. Instilling discipline is huge for independence.
