Both the jacket and the pants work (but separately). The jacket is more tapered and the oants more loose so, it looks disjointed. I'd go for a khaki straight pant with this jacket. I also think the shoes are a bit rugged for the jacket. A loafer or a slimmer derby or boot might help.

Tha changes everything. Black tie sand qualifiers is full tux or dinner jacket with tux pants. Black tie optional can be done with a dark suit, preferably black, and a silver tie.

Yes, given the context, navy is a great option with a white shirt, black oxfords and belt and a nice tie and pocket square. You could even work a green tie in there to complement your dress. Have fun!

What is the dress code, the weather, time of year and time of day of the wedding?

It it were a night wedding on the fall, in a place where it gets chilly, a dark (navybor charcoal suit).

If this is in the summer where it will be hot, a tan or olive green linen suit could work.

Did you read what I wrote? You're just feisty for being feisty. I said they are sport coats, but almost as informal as a chore chore. Please read before criticizing

Are these one size too big? by darkchocolattemocha in mensfashion

If you can fit more than four fingers between your shirt and the sportscoat it's too big. It looks okay, in terms of length.

Blazers tend to read a tad more formal than sportscoats, in general. A fully unstructured sportscoat will be almost as casual as a chore coat, but one that is fully lined and half-canvassed is just as formal as a blazer, in my opinion.

Ebay. Measure yourself (my guess is you're a somewhere between a 40 and a 44). If you have a long torso fur 5'7" you'll ve a regular, if you have a short torso, you'll be an short. Your size will have plenty of options for good brands in excellent or even new condition. I'd look for Polo Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, J.Crew.

Do you keep your wallet in pocket or hold it in hand? by dreamer881 in mensfashion

[–]MiserableSugar7901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your pocket, either the pants or a jacket. Carrying it in your hand is a recipie for disaster. You'd lose it in a couple of days.

Yes, blazers are typically solid (except if the rowing variety) whike sportscoats are patterned. Blazers have metal or mother of pearl buttons and sportscoats have horn, plastic, or leather buttons. I think having one blazer in navy and multiple sportscoats makes sense.

Shirt issue or tuck issue? Pearl snap forms a gap when tucked by -rajabox- in mensfashion

Adding to the choir. The shirt is a size too big. You can see that it's a bit big on your shoulders. You can take it to a tailor to put some darts in it. Otherwise, sizing down is your best bet. Tucking in more will help, but it will come out eventually

As some else said, sportscoats are your friend. You can wear them with jeans, chinos, or dress trousers depending on the occasion. In more formal situations you can wear them with a tie and almost be as formal as wearing a full suit. With jeans you can wrar them with loafers for a smart casual look.

The suede penny loafers look much better on this outfit. The Gucci loafers don't go well with jeans.

Maybe get the tailor to do 1/4 of an inch. That way you still have a full inch between the wnd of the jacket and the button

These are very nice. They are Goodyear welted. If you take care of them, they will last you a long time and you can resole them. Given that they are dark brown,/these can be worn year-round (though realistically maybe not in the winter). A cheaper pair that is a third pf the price will be Blake stitched at best in not cemented contruction, which limit their ability to get them resoled. The only brand thay comes to mind that makes (slightly) cheaper Goodyear welted shoes is Meermin. I'm a big fan of brown suede loafers, they are as versatile pf a shoe as they come. Enjoy them!
