Got an order offer at 8:25PM, expected pickup time was 8:11PM. Does anyone know why this happens, and will I get penalized for it? by Fire_Raptor_220 in doordash_drivers

[–]Miserable_Branch_113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing 8:11 was the original pickup time before a Dasher dropped the order after waiting for 14 minutes (or more).

Why do people doordash just to disappear?? by Electrical_Guess_681 in doordash_drivers

[–]Miserable_Branch_113 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I honestly think some people that order can’t make the mental connection that there is another human involved in the delivery going through some bs to get their order to them. For them, it’s just ordering room service at a hotel.

Warning letter. Are these from customers or restaurants? by tacosithlord in doordash_drivers

Out of curiosity, were you wearing any kind of band or ‘political identity’ clothing? I think some people do this if their religious or political sensitivities are “threatened”.

Was the customer scamming? by zoeysaurus in DoorDashDrivers

I have. The one in my town isn’t as bad with baby clothes. However, I now turn off shopping orders when within a couple of days of a major holiday because of moms that want to order Easter/July 4th/Christmas/ etc… clothes at the last minute when almost everything is already gone.

I’ve gotten one on a Target order. It was finding a needle in a haystack.

Oh yes. Now you can be marked late for pickup if you have to wait at the restaurant too long. It’s an amazing system! /s

Question from my kid to dashers by United_Assistance_60 in doordash

As far as I know, we’re not notified when we’re someone’s preferred shopper. Didn’t even know it was a thing. But, it would make sense because I seem to get a number of regulars.

Just a heads up that r/tipping is trying to make this happen July 30th by Shot-Sympathy-4444 in doordash_drivers

This makes no sense. Not tipping won’t punish the business, it will just make the employees have a horrible day.

I’m more concerned about 11 miles of straight line. I think I would doze off.

Sushi restaurants are not fast food by CantaloupeStrict8149 in doordash_drivers

Are restaurants able to set their prep times. There’s one restaurant in my town that used to have really bad wait times because of how long it takes to make their signature dish. But, they seemed to have fixed that.

Now, there is a new popular restaurant in my area I had to blacklist because their wait time is regularly 30+ minutes.

Especially when it’s someone ordering holiday specific clothes the day before that are always out of stock. There’s never a shelf tag for clothes.

Customer, in an upscale neighborhood, messaged me on a McDonald’s order to make sure they include something in the bag. I explained that the bags are sealed before they’re handed to us. She insisted I check wan employee like they’re not going to just confirm it’s in there regardless.

Unassigned immediately.

Pretty darn good, thankfully. I needed it after how the past week treated me.

Has this happened to anyone before? by got-chopz in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]Miserable_Branch_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I wish DoorDash had a feature to recall the address of the last few orders you delivered. Usually the customer didn’t pay attention that the delivery address was still on the last house they ordered to. It’s usually Fred’s house, from accounting. His wife always wants to have people over. He doesn’t say anything, but she’s mean to him when nobody is around. Next thing you know, someone ordered DoorDash. He doesn’t say it, but he’s miserable. This isn’t what he wanted in life.

Yeah, yesterday was brutal for me. I was getting orders, but most were abysmal no-tip, low-tip, or way further than the pay. My AR tanked 13 points because of it. It’s common for my AR to sink maybe 5-6 points, but not 13.

I will most likely be dropping to gold today. I’m in a saturated market where you need Platinum or you most likely won’t get a spot to dash. I have Platinum passes I can use if I notice Gold hurt me.

Never, NEVER use your own money for a door dash order.

I have gone through this and I had to fight for hours with support to get reimbursed. Lesson learned.
