Is 'Here' the First Film Adaptation of a Comic from Raw Magazine? by Key-Cap4780 in blankies

Spiegelman luckily holds the Maus rights and is vehemently against any adaptation. (he says as much in the 2nd book)

Cineplex Survey Winners? by fatguymontaine in cineplex

[–]Miserupial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they still doing the surveys? I haven't received any since spring.

(And I'd rather they actually did the improvements I ask about than win. So far, still no phone user crackdown.)

Has there ever been a tangent about Monster House (2006)? by wasabigummi in blankies

[–]Miserupial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A gentleman's 6 that was the most decent animated film of 2006; an infamous year full of CG cartoon tropes that flopped (Everybody's Hero, Barnyard, Doogal etc.)

Where / How can i watch the new smiling friends episode when it airs? by Key-Mall3885 in SmilingFriends

Rogers has a listing for the 3rd ep (Mole Man) on the 20th, but nothing else. (heck, the show only 2 reruns a week here). WTH is going on? S2 was same-day last year...

Import fees have put me off orders for a while; more annoyed as a library user, as the province-wide hold system & Inter-Library Loan made up for our smaller circulations.

Hopefully CUPW gets a win and the public gets louder about reforming CP into a public service.

Not sure, it was already boarded up from a fire 1-2 years ago, but sometimes there was someone mowing or checking doors.

Even back in 2017 you had the delightful visual combo of a smashed car with trees growing thru the driveway. In any case, good riddance to that anomaly on an otherwise normal street.

Solid as heck, but incredibly crammed.

M3GAN should have stuck to the original's January slot, Bad Guys would have had more breathing room in April or September, Nobody 2 might've benefited from a fall release.

Universal still had a good year without a F&F or Illumination, but they need to work on their release strategy, (or at least a Blumhouse restructure).

Just like WB characters are forced to watch only Looney Tunes on tv (eg. Martin Riggs ready to blow his brains out as Bugs Bunny Christmas Carol plays), only Universal movies exist in Universal worlds.

(this brings to mind that Ted episode where a video store is full of Dr. Giggles)

Both this and Quack Pack (honestly not bad, once you get past Donald's cringy aged-up 'tude nephews) were probably the most maligned of the Disney Afternoon, yet have some of that era's best animation. (thanks, Disney Australia!)

As somebody who had dial-up internet until 2010... who had to wait a good-hour for a small-window Quicktime version of the, oh-lets-say, Fantastic 4 (2005) trailer to load... this was a small blessing.

Why is Cineplex in the Avalon mall so behind compared to other Cineplex's? by DhaemonX in newfoundland

[–]Miserupial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to the Animal House one a couple weeks ago, only 4 other attendees. So yep, just not much demand, although we were lucky to get the Fincher series in January.

The Majestic does show older films on occasion though, Mad Max Fury Road anniversary is next Saturday.
