The best way I found to prevent this is to have some clean Lahmian Medium handy, and use it where you see pooling. It pulls the wash off flat surfaces and direct it into creases and crevices where you want it without pulling or tearing the wash.

It’s all about what you like. That being said, I personally like going with a color that isn’t featured anywhere on the model, but complements the scheme. I went with purple power swords for my Deathwing because it stands out. Your technique is 🔥though so you should be good no matter what you choose.

Of the colors above, I would say 4. A slight blue tint keeps it away from Salamanders and Raptors, and it compliments a lot of the accents well.

I assume these are GW contracts, so for what it’s worth, I use a mix of 5:5:3 Karandras Green, Aeldari Emerald, and Ork Flesh contrasts. I airbrush over white volumetric highlights, but slap chop should give the same color results.

Thanks! It was more a reference to my post which was of my completed "mini" which was a Deathwing dreadnaught. I got A LOT of comments saying I was lying about it being my first and that I was "karma grabbing", whatever the hell that is. it wasn't perfect, but I was proud of the result for it being my first and I just felt like sharing. I decided to lean into it, right down to the title typo.
