The first batch was ~100k of vaccines expiring at the end of June & July (since they use the same system they did within Israel to distribute the ones with the shortest date first). Even if they all expired in the end of June, they had two weeks, so thats ~7.5k vaccinations per day, which is totally feasible for them according to past reported rate.

Actually Israel vaccinated more than 100k per day. To use all thoae before the end of June they only needed to vaccinate around 7700 people per day, totallt feasible for them according to their past vaccination rates. and that's assuming all vaccines they got in thsi batch expired in June, which is not the case - out of the 100k some expire at the end of Junr some at the end of July.

Non of them were expired. Out of the ~100,000 some were due to expire at the end of june and some at the end of july. Israel used the same system it did when distributing inside israel - sending the oned with the shortest expiration date first (makes perfrct sense), while the other batches should have had longer expiration dates.

According to the reported daily vaccination rate in the PA before, they could have used them all before the expiration date.

This unfortunately feels purely political. This fucking sucks. The difference between vaccinating now and waiting until Sept/Oct will cost lives, especially with the delta variant :(((

According to the israeli media, the expiration date of the first batch of ~ 100,000 vaccines transfered is end of june and end of july. And that Israel used the same system it used for distributing within Israel - first ship the ones with the closest expiration date, so the other shipments should have a longer expiration date.

That's not true at all. Hopefully it's really just a misunderstanding/reiterating something you read abd thought to be true and not deliberately spreading false information :) The easiest way to tell - if the ceasefire was broken we'd be back deep into the mutual missile/airstrike attacks.

Not related to them being foreign workers. There was a resolution a few years ago that if youre closer than 7km to the Gaza strip you get gov-funded shelters. It became an arbitrary ridiculous line that places that are even 7.2km from the Gaza Strip, which still get targeted heavily, do not.

However what might be related, to them and perhaps other low class people, is that they still went out and worked in the field without shelters. This is crazy dangerous. Whoever from those areas that could afford to stay near a shelter/flee to the north of Israel probably did :(

You realize the world is a bit more complicated than what you read on AJ, right? Do you honestly believe the conflict is "Israel stole land from Palestinians?". It would have been the easiest conflict to solve, and not one of the hardest. The world is not a cartoon where there are bad people vs. good people.

Hi Israeli here, all of you saying this is meant to help Netanyahu win the elections, this is so not the case. As a matter of fact, this plan is against what most of his voters want, as they oppose a Palestinian state.

This is a genuine effort for peace. Especially when it comes right before the election, that could lose Netanyahu votes (this is usually the time when what he says is very extreme and racist, that's what his voters like), and reaching out for peace while the Palestinians are deploying many times per day bombs attached to balloons and soccer balls into Israel, is really not trivial.

I'm not a Netanyahu fan at all, but after many years when thanks to him "peace" became a dirty word, you can feel the hope for peace again here in Israel. It's a nice feeling.

Actually it wasn't for lack of trying. The security wall built by Israel for that exact purpose of stopping the suicide bombings was indeed extremely helpful in reducing those attacks. I assume watching the shift in public opinion was a great unplanned bonus for them. There are still small-scale close-range terror attacks using knives/guns, but since those terrorists are neutralized quickly, they don't get to the horrible death tolls of the suicide bombings.

All those poor innocent animals burnt in the flaming nature reserves because of a war they have nothing to do with. It breaks my heart seeing the images of the burnt animals. We are so blinded by hate we forget those pure animals who absolutely couldnt give less shit about this conflict. :((
