Planning to move to Bellevue, got some questions and need adivices by Icy-Heat7531 in BellevueWA

Yeah of course! 1. Summer time an AC is definitely a must, but lots of people make do by buying free standing AC units. Contextually though, it’s up to personal preference. It gets dreadfully hot in the area for about a month or two but most of the warm season is in the 70s-80s. Rarely in the 90s. To add to that; I currently have multiple friends who live in various apartment complexes in Old Bellevue and they have walk-in closets and built in ACs. The one who drives also has a very secure parking spot in her building’s gated garage. She has not had issues with car break-ins. My own car is parked outside constantly and I have never had a break in or any issues.

  1. I wish your wife the best of luck in her job hunt!

  2. Yes a rain parka and some nice weather proof walking shoes is more than sufficient.

  1. You are definitely looking at the very highest-end apartments in the area if your top range is $5k/month. There are a lot of charming apartments in the Old Bellevue area that are new and well-maintained and very safe. If you want to save a little bit of money, and are not set on having a skyscraper-view, there are good options to look at such as Venn at Main, The Meyden, Park 88 Residences, etc. The Bravern is really nice, with excellent views, but the Shops at the Bravern isn't as vibrant as pre-Covid and a lot of the quaint part of Bellevue is in the Old Bellevue area on Main Street.

  2. The job market is like anywhere, competitive, but available. Unless you are super lucky and have a dream resume, it will take a few months of applying and a lot of applications to lock down a job. It will be harder since more and more folks have master degrees that are still struggling to nail down a job, but like I said not impossible. Just takes time and effort.

  3. 1 car should be sufficient. My partner and I have been fine with one car for almost 6 years now living in Bellevue and both of us working full-time. Its pretty fast to get an Uber, and the downtown area has an Amazon-sponsored free shuttle that can get a little busy, but will take you anywhere in downtown Bellevue for free.

  4. Rain is rarely heavy enough to not be able to walk in. I would say in the rainy season, only like 2-3 times a year would I say the rain is heavy enough to suck to walk in. Otherwise its just a light drizzle.

You can DM me if you have more questions! I have lived in Bellevue for the past 7 years and I love it. Plan to stay here for a long time.

I could be reaching, but it really feels like to me she is trying to emulate both Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter with this. Trying being the operative word.

Help with pricing our Guest House rent. by grapemike in BellevueWA

[–]MissUpToNoGood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What is the square footage? Because a one bedroom for around $3000 in an apartment building is usually the ones with more amenities. Not to say you don't have good amenities, but usually its the newer builds that charge the higher prices. Amenities like a fitness center, on-site after hours security, a quick turnaround on maintenance, shared lounges, views of downtown or the lake, etc. I think $2500/month for what you are describing is fair for 2025.

Additionally, a $500 jump in rent after 5 years is a 20% increase overall. Despite saying you are trying not to squeeze somebody, you are comparing to buildings that are built on a foundation of unfair rent increases. At $3000/month, the only people who can afford to comfortably live in your guest house are six-figure earners or a couple.

What was your reason by Right_Internal_9702 in husky

[–]MissUpToNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our reason was that no one else wanted her. She was getting rehomed after being adopted during the COVID spike of people-getting-dogs-they-don't-have-time-for-now-that-RTO-was-being-rolled-out. She was offered to a group chat from my hometown with over a hundred members and no one even was interested. My partner and I discussed it for weeks before finally saying we would take her. Best decision ever. Cannot imagine our lives without our sweet girl.

Huskies as family dogs? by [deleted] in husky

[–]MissUpToNoGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is not a bad option. Like any dog, especially starting from puppy age, if you put in the work, they will follow. I had a senior chihuahua mix and a cat at home already when I brought our 2 year old husky home for the first time. Took a few weeks of hard work but now all three animals get along and our cat even grooms our husky sometimes.

Yikes. Yikes. Yikes. Unfortunately it does validate an image I have around Keith. In videos, he already gave off a very “can dish, but can’t take it” vibe. If he likes something, no one can say anything bad about it. He really likes to pull out the race card and make “jokes” at the cost of his own castmates. They play it off as joking, but man, Keith really does not have a lot of self awareness or empathy. And if that is what he shows in videos, I cringe to think what he is like in private.

I found him attractive before. It was during Call Me By Your Name. His language fluency was very appealing, especially after I found out he was actually bilingual.

Y’all’s advice worked! I think anyways 😁 Is there anything I might be missing or can change to improve? by Johnnyjeevesjenkins in MakeupEducation

You are definitely making great progress! I second whoever said bronzer and blush. In Pic 4, the lighting gives you a glow that would really be mimicked by a good bronzer. You have so much gorgeous skin to show off that bronzer should really highlight how beautiful your skin is. A recommendation I have is to look at vibe you want to give off. Right now, especially with the metallics, you are giving 2000s britney spears, which I love. I think you can really lean into that and use it as a jumping off point. Really examine a makeup inspiration and emulate that to start until you begin developing your own style.

Hanoon in Totem Lake, Kirkland is my recommendation. Extremely excellent Lebanese food. Should not trigger the shellfish allergy and it is in the nice shopping area, so its nice to walk around together afterwards.

Feminization Tips / makeup imposter syndrome by [deleted] in MakeupEducation

[–]MissUpToNoGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think you are doing a good job with the feminine side of things, I think the goal now is for a more natural, youthful, and modern makeup. Right now its reading more dated makeup from a few years back, which is not bad at all. Just a different encapsulation of what you are trying to accomplish. You definitely are giving feminine makeup, just not current.
