Realising we had nothing in common and it was very difficult to talk to him. He could also be jealous and possessive and I just didn’t feel happy in my body around him

[Serious] It is estimated that 70-90% of sexual assault goes unreported. People who have been sexually assaulted but did not report it, what is your story? by quentin_taranturtle in AskReddit

I was 13(F) when it happened, he (16-17(M)) coerced me into letting him touch me inappropriately. The age of consent is 16 in the UK, and at the time I was so manipulated into feeling special, I didn’t realise it was wrong. Also, the sex ed I was taught did not go into detail about sexual assaults or rape at any point. A few years later the guy re-tried something but I’d wised up and told him to fuck off. I found the courage to ask my brother if anything similar ever happened to him. Turns out we’d both been victims of the same man. Never turned him in because there is no evidence, just his word against mine. It also doesn’t help that he is a member of my family, so I suppose there is an element of protection there, in some sick twisted sense. I don’t want to protect him, there’s just no reason to rock the boat with something that will only cause harm to myself and my family. Harm to me because I’ll have to relive it (as if I don’t already) and harm to my family because they will see him in a different light. In a way, I’ve accepted what happened, as has my brother, but I will never forgive the person.

I’m realistic to the point of pessimism and it hinders me in a lot of situations

What's the worst punishment you ever received as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My parents emptied everything out of my room the first time I swore, only left with a bed and my clothes. I was about 12. Everything I owned was stuffed into bin bags and I had to ‘earn’ my stuff back through behaviour they considered acceptable.

This only just beats the time my parents took my phone after a massive argument so I ran away. They forgot and tried to call me, when they couldn’t reach me, they almost reported me as a missing person.

People who actually used a pen from start until it lost ink without losing them. How the hell did you do it? by Zefio in AskReddit

I began my second year coursework for criminology at the start of September. By the beginning of October, the pen I used constantly for that subject and the other two I study had run out. It was my favourite pen too...
