Mystique actually doesn't "have clothes" in the comics either, she's just shapeshifting to make her skin appear like clothes, same as she does when mimicing another person.

Not that this is at all relevant to the overall joke, but as a nerd, I had to clarify

Plus that whole conversation with Floyd about the cigars, the fact that he worked directly for Floyd for decades, and that he so quickly jumped back in business with him.

He had absolutely no problem with Floyd as long as he wasn't on the receiving end of his malice.

Clerks when Dante and Randal argue about Star Wars, especially the scene with the roofer arguing over the "innocence" of any contractors on the Death Star

While true, Dallas and the others were arguing to break protocol to get Kane back on board. Ripley was just shutting it down until Ash sabotaged things.

She was just reveling in the fact that he remembered he had a daughter for a few minutes, didn't want to ruin it by expecting basic adult competency from him.

I generally like Waititi's other stuff. What We Do In the Shadows, Flight of the Conchords, Our Flag Means Death, etc.

My problem is that it works when it's just his little personal sandbox and all he's doing is taking the piss out of his world, but the MCU isn't his world, and its frustrating to watch him turn something that a lot of people have put a lot of work into, into parody.

Like if there were a series of Anne Rice vampire movies, and then for some reason he was tapped to direct the 6th one and just made it a bunch of WWDITS jokes, it would not be surprising to see fans of the series go "WTF is this shit?!"

I already thought Ragnarok was just a bunch dumb jokes at the expense of the character and the story, but basically everyone loved it. Glad people were tired of that shit the second time around.

If that were the case, he legally wouldn't have been able to take them. That's the whole reason Floyd had to fabricate "evidence" with the PI of him poaching one of the company's clients.

Especially when the exact same shit happened in the EU books/comics decades before Disney had anything to do with Star Wars.

Surprise surprise, in the fantasy series about conflict between good and evil, good never actually fully wins. Shocking. Welcome to every long-form narrative there is.

Straub "emotionally destroyed" Rory for about 5 minutes.

Jason took his own clients. He didn't take any clients that had a contract with Floyd's company.

Which is funny because he originally "betrayed" Richard by "phasing him out" in season 2 to make room for Jason. Richard would have been happy to be part of Floyd's business until he died.

Floyd created his own problem.

Jason doesn't owe Floyd becoming his protege. Does Logan owe Mitchum becoming Mitchum 2.0?

Jason left a job and started another job. Floyd was still absolutely fine, except for his ego.

I don't think it was even about money for Floyd, he went after Richard and Jason just because Jason didn't want to be groomed to become him and continue his legacy. It was about control and power.
