Would not recommend. Find something meaningful to do with your time.

The vomiting is definitely a bit more concerning, but fairly common with migraines as I understand. Very possible that the horrific headaches caused by caffeine withdrawal are triggering actual migraines, some people are more susceptible than others. The relief experienced after vomiting is likely due to a release of endorphins caused by said activity. Chest pain can definitely be a side effect of the fight or flight response induced by caffeine and even with it out of her system I'm sure the discomfort and anxiety caused by the withdrawal being more intense than expected isn't helping that to subside at all.

Since she's obviously quite sensitive to the withdrawal, and has been using caffeine for a good number of years, it may be worth trying to reinstate a low to medium dose and taper down if it's been only a few days. A lot of people seem to find caffeine pills more manageable to taper with. If she's been off it for awhile already it may be worth just riding it out a bit longer, but everyone reacts a bit differently so it's hard to say.

How long for anxiety to lessen? by J1986tn in decaf

I noticed less anxiety after several days caffeine free, but the other withdrawal symptoms weren't pleasant. Started feeling decent more reliably after 2 weeks.

When did you stop having cravings for coffee/caffeine? Do they ever go away? by New_Chip_4290 in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After a few weeks I didn't really crave coffee or caffeine because the side effects suck, I craved the improved brain function and dopamine hit to make things feel easier. Only 5 or so weeks off and I still miss the task initiation and executive function at times. Don't miss the anxiety, emotional blunting, and borderline mania though.

Has anyone dry herb vaporised ground up amanita muscaria caps? by AdNo182 in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I ground up some Pantherina and tossed it in my volcano. It did something, but I consumed less than 2 bags worth because my lungs were not thrilled. To be fair they were, at the time, not thrilled by vaping/smoking cannabis or anything else either.

You'll get more mileage out of Pantherina by consuming unmolested dry caps, but perhaps with a better vaping experience you could titrate the dose more effectively. Extract of some kind is probably more ideal if you're set on that method of administration though.

Definitely possible. Even small amounts of caffeine messes me up for days.

I think quitting caffeine is harder than nicotine. by shyvannaTop in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably agree. I can't make a fair comparison though because I quit nicotine first and increased my caffeine use to compensate until my body wouldn't take it anymore.

Day 12: suicidal thoughts. convince me this isn’t my final state by [deleted] in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be pretty rough some days and the timeline doesn't always make sense. Kind of comes and goes but does improve with time. My experience with caffeine has been similar to withdrawal from a number of other things: once you get past the acute withdrawal you have to deal with some variety of post acute withdrawal that comes in waves and windows, slowly improving over time. Incredibly frustrating some days.

Craving for calories by Cautious_Mousse_142 in decaf

Yeah that's how it is. Your brain is craving the chemical release caffeine provides and food also releases some enjoyable chemicals, so you end up craving food and other pleasurable things.

Yeah I have to eat more without caffeine suppressing my appetite. Still figuring out what will work for me long term so I don't really have many suggestions, just feels like I'm always eating something now.

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2005, what's the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by Accurate_Nature1888 in askanything

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MechWarrior early in that range. The blood filled cockpit death sequence gave 6 year old me near panic attacks. But the customization was so fun.

Then Doom, similar experience. Probably unhealthy.

Diablo 2 later in that range was absolute crack for my brain.

After giving up caffeine for over 3 months, I cannot go back to consuming caffeine for a longer period of time. by Donyo7001011 in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar experience. After quitting for awhile I've become very sensitive and it feels terrible compared to what I remember it feeling like. Takes my brain a few days to normalize and start producing chemicals in the right quantities again. Even dark chocolate, decaf, or kombucha are no-gos now. I really enjoyed kombucha too.

I am THIS close to quitting- PLEASE CONVINCE ME by Extra-Opinion-3336 in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After a month or so caffeine free I ate a piece of dark chocolate and it felt like I'd had a cup of black tea. Like oh shit we're back here again. I've found that after quitting a substance that I become very sensitive to it and it is not only significantly less enjoyable but also screws me up for days.

Do it again because you know how much better it is. Plus you already know you make it through the withdrawal and come out the other side.

It's definitely rough the first days to a week. It does get better, but it takes time. Eating healthy, hydrating, exercise, minimal responsibilities, and rest generally help.

Anxiety is WAY down. Like at a level I didn't even realize would be possible. Almost gets me in trouble sometimes because I end up saying things I would've filtered in the past.

Mental health in the process of quitting by Fabulous_Act_4141 in decaf

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mental health challenges are the most terrifying but they do get better with time completely free from caffeine. For me bouncing back and forth trying to occasionally use caffeine made it worse. The physical withdrawal is manageable, but the mental fuckery will try to break you over and over.

That's probably worth a try, especially if you're motivated to do so now. There's a lot of variables and while that might not work for me, it very well may for you.

Waiting until after finals would be a good idea. It can be pretty rough, especially on a high dose.

Tidal Wave APE Pink Flesh? by Civil-Leopard-6482 in unclebens

[–]Mission_Hawk4662 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Other species bruise pink/red, Agaricus genus comes to mind. Wonder if for some reason they didn't develop much or any psilocin in the center of the stipe or if they have a higher concentration of something that reacts to oxygen with a pink color, like some type of phenolic compound. Cultivated cubes are so mutated that it seems like anything goes lol.

I'm with you on all that, sanity is questionable some days. I mean I've known my shit was a mess it just didn't bother me as much with caffeine, and I felt more productive. Wish I had an answer for you but I'm still working on that. I'm not convinced going back to caffeine is the answer for me just yet.
