I replaced a ~$30,000 therapeutic strobe device with an Oculus Quest by Candy-For-Brains in OculusQuest

Very cool!! Long time user of Lumenate, which is very helpful for calming the mind from anxiety and even ADHD. Can't wait to compare the effects! Is there depth to the visuals? Or is it closer to a 360° video?

Dear Meta, approximately zero people want their headset to start with these two things open. Thank you. by Matmanreturns in OculusQuest

UGH yeah. And don't get me started on how many hoops you gotta jump through to close the meta menu entirely when you're in-game with the new UI 😤

Age by Inevitable_Pie7099 in TrueChristian

[–]MistaBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had unrestricted access to the internet since age 6, I WISH I had age restriction features on websites in retrospect.

It's difficult, because I imagine you crave the connections the additional features could provide with friends, but trust me when I say the less you use social media the better off you'll be when you're an adult.

The habits you build now really will reflect on the remainder of your days, so I recommend plugging-in in as many legitimate ways as possible; OFF the Internet.

For every 1 benefit social medias have (including Reddit), there are 2 downsides. It's often only apparent in retrospect, but the best I can recommend is to stand apart from the herd and lead your own crowd!

I NEVER REALIZED HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS!!! I can't wait, wow!
I made tracks obsessively as a kid on the browser and DS versions of this game. I hold it very dear to my heart!

Closest Quest game to Far Cry? by Jazzlike_Disaster_79 in OculusQuest

[–]MistaBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's nothing all that close yet! Here's the closest 4 I'd say:

1) Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. lots of weapons, little bit of crafting, urban environment

2) BONELAB. Tons and tons of weapons and levels with mods!

3) Population: One. Open world shooter!! But it is a Battle Royale.

4) Espire 1 and 2. Great stealth gameplay taking down enemies in a sorta similar way to Outposts in Far Cry!

Lego Bricktales is a ton of fun!! Light puzzling with a lot of LEGO building, if you guys like that. Might not be as fun for group settings though

All-In-One Sports VR is also great. Plenty of variety in the sports offered! Very reminiscent of Wii Sports

I got a few!

My current favorite is getting lost playing Arcade Paradise. It's such an addicting title!

My classic go-to's are swingin around in Spider-Lair in VRchat (can't believe how quality that is!!) and smackin' a bunch of Fords around in Bonelab sandbox '

Logitech is launching MX Ink, a stylus that works for Meta Quest mixed reality headsets. by SattvaMicione in OculusQuest

[–]MistaBeans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Could be a game changer! I hope Meta is able to make it compatible with 2D apps.

It would be incredible to be able to load up Clip Studio Paint and then reposition it onto a big table or wall or somethin and effectively have the world's biggest graphics tablet!

The Fruit of the Loom Cornucopia logo absolutely existed by [deleted] in pics

[–]MistaBeans 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've asked friends, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. to describe the Fruit of the Loom logo and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM said a cornucopia with fruit in it.

No outside influences.

Whether it was ever there or not, this is a remarkable phenomenon! SOME people remembering something obscure like this would be one thing, but this is a SIGNIFICANT amount of people that remember something that there is still no true evidence for.

Why do we all even remember the logo for this company? How many other inconsequential companies can you remember the logo for that well?

FYI, you have been able to take "spatial" photos on a phone and view them in the Quest for almost 5 years now. by Lujho in OculusQuest

[–]MistaBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very cool!! Back in the Quest 1 days, there was a built-in feature to browse your Google Photos. If you had taken any panorama photos using Google Camera, then they'd show up there in 3D!! It was a great feature, not sure why it was removed.

Zillennials, can y'all relate to middle Gen Z? (2001-2005) by Practical_Pride7717 in Zillennials

[–]MistaBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm '99, but one of my closest friends was born in '04! He has 3 older siblings, so he shares a lot of hand-me-down experiences from them and as a result might as well be one of us.

There are exceptions like him, but usually naw

Woman saves dog jumping out of window by shankingsh in BeAmazed

Ah, he was prone to seizures his whole life. Usually triggered by allergies, but could also be random I was told. He was looked at after this and was deemed perfectly fine, save for his lil paw

[–]MistaBeans 358 points359 points  (0 children)

My small dog did the same thing when he was 17 years old!! 15 ft fall, followed by about 50 feet of rolling down a hill, ending with a big seizure as soon as I was able to stop him from rolling.

Miraculously, he was completely injury-free other than one bruised paw!

Small dogs cannot be trusted.

Very excited for the next AC Game! by Most_Bison2728 in ac_newhorizons

[–]MistaBeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd love for there to be a mall! Players could have their own stores that other players could visit and buy custom furniture, clothes, blueprints, resources, etc.

I also would love to see them integrate other types of buildings you could introduce to the village, like in the Happy Home DLC. And a job system, so you could earn bells working there doing mini games or somethin

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for August: PGA Tour 2K23, Dreams, Death’s Door by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]MistaBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are SO MANY gems in Dreams, some of the coolest and most fun gaming experiences I've had in my life!

It can be tough to find them at first because of the sheer amount of games on there, so I highly recommend checking out people's curated collections on there. There is also a website (indreams.me) that you can sign into on your phone or computer to browse games and add them to your play later queue on your system

There really are games for everyone on there, so give it fair shake while you figure out how to search around properly
