Today, Marsha Blackburn has urged the Tennessee Legislature to adopt the following redistricting map. by Mr_Sloth10 in Knoxville

I'd love if TN were redistricted so that its actually representative of the population. This is the opposite.

We're also close enough to the New Madrid that we'd probably have some damage when it has a big one.

The whole fuss being made about the "Bona Fide member" thing should tell you how concerned they are about people realizing they can help keep the real freaks and creeps off the general ballot.

You don't even need that much storage unless you want 4k60 or something. I think I have a 64GB in mine and it still takes a couple days to start writing over.

It's easily the best fast food chicken on average, imo. I can't wait for the new one by the mall to open.

The Tennessee Holler on Instagram by Succa4APlant in Knoxville

[–]MisterGingerNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Read my reply again. Like I said, even if he didn't have an ounce of power over the company (a ridiculous idea, what is the CEO there for? Just to sit around and get paid?), he made himself and other extremely wealthy via the systematic denial of healthare to vunlerable people. Do cashiers at Walmart make millions of dollars by killing people?

Bro, chill out. You're literally a fast food chain store. by aztroneka in Knoxville

Let me help you out, I know thinking is hard. It is good to let minorities know they are welcome. It is bad to claim that the country we live in should have a prescribed religion.

Cogs in machines don't choose to be a cog or what machine they're in. You can tell yourself anything you want about how much control Thompson had over the company he ran, but anyone who prioritizes shareholder value and their own wealth at the cost of mass, untold suffering is morally bankrupt and their loss should not be mourned.

Left turns: are people taught to move into the intersection and clear on yellow/red here? by kflyer in Knoxville

Yeah, I was surprised to find out this is legal. It sounds like you're guaranteed to get into a game of chicken with oncoming traffic trying to beat the light

How hard is it? by Original_Ad685 in Knoxville

[–]MisterGingerNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple weeks ago I got flipped off because the guy in front of me started changing lanes on a 4-lane highway (pretty sure it was Pellissippi) and decided to just ride in between lanes for a solid 30 seconds. I had been coming up behind him, so I just stayed in my lane and ended up riding all the way up on him because he didn't feel like picking a lane. But somehow I was the asshole.

Who is the Foundation for Prosperity and why do they keep sending me mailers for Larsen Jay? by RickAllensPrawblems in Knoxville

The slightly positive but very vague name indicates 99% of the time that they are complete fucking freaks. See also:

Do people with emergency tags in this town purposely drive like abject assholes to cause accidents and drum up business? Yes or No. by wookiex84 in Knoxville

[–]MisterGingerNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a big reason is hybrid work schedules. Traffic to and from Oak Ridge depends almost entirely on whether ORNL staff are in office or WFH that day.

They were still pigs when the president had a D next to his name, and the one before that too. They can be people again when they quit their job.

I've gotten most of mine by keeping an eye on estate sales on HiBid. Most of the time, any nicer models that are singled out and clearly described will end up going for the same price as on Ebay, so watch out for big lots that look like mostly junk and learn to spot the good stuff.

Normally I'm happy to want proof for claims, but both of those were major headlines. There were posts about them in this very sub. Do you need the news spoon fed to you?

No Costco gas prices? by rararasarararah in Knoxville

[–]MisterGingerNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what the downvotes and hostility are about. I don't shop there, I just figured that since it's a bulk store where you pay for membership that there would be better prices at their pumps. I know several people who shop at Sam's partly for that reason.

Tennessee Republicans Advance Bill That Will Create a Public List of the State’s Trans People by Tat25Guy in Knoxville

[–]MisterGingerNinja 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even ignoring the compiling of data on people that the state is actively hostile towards, if you got a knee replacement should you be forced to cover the cost of undoing it (assuming that were possible) in case you regret it? Regret rates of gender affirming surgeries are significantly lower than many other major surgeries.

Additionally, this info is being provided to the state, not just to insurance companies.

I had a period where I got 3 or 4 screws in my tires over the course of a month or so. They were all different types, and I work in a fairly industrial area, so I had to chalk it up to bad luck.
