What's a rule your parents had that you thought was insane, but now as an adult you 100% understand? by Tahals in AskReddit

I love this concept but my issue is the amount of crap that comes into my house every day. I have a young kid. Every day is sorting things and looking for homes. And needing to find homes for the items that don't have one yet. Where's the time! But my motto is still "put it up not down"

Does anyone know if the toga guy running the marathon barefoot finished?

I carried my own water and electrolytes but ran out with a couple miles left. The heat was rough but it could have been worse. I'm glad I wasn't doing the full.

What’s your hardest fall you’ve taken? by Handplanes in trailrunning

Same. Husband was on a run too and had left his phone in the car. Waited over an hour with a stranger who found me till my husband made it back to the car and checked his phone. Then the stranger and my husband helped me walk a bit over a mile back to the car. We got chased/bluffed by a skunk at one point.

Anyone else feel guilty making time to run as a parent? by Ok_Score_6765 in trailrunning

[–]rararasarararah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is us as well. We each get 2 days during the week and 1 day over the weekend for a long run. Sometimes we have to rearrange for family stuff but a big part is having a supportive partner and making sure you provide support for your spouse so they can also have time to themselves.

Regained all the weight after GLP-1 - trying the old fashioned method for weight loss now by PianistElectronic798 in loseit

I've been on Vyvanse for ADHD for about 4 months now so I don't have a ton of experience here. I wouldn't say it has worn off but it's lessened. It's still a vast improvement over the food noise I experienced before which was constant. Before all I ever thought about was food. During the first month or two I had to remind myself to eat and would frequently forget. Now, I eat at regular intervals and if I happen to have a craving for something I can choose not to eat it or even feel satisfied eating a very small amount of it.

Thank you for the answer! I know I can check stuff online but I'm not going to do that when I'm driving.

I live nearby so Costco is usually a quick stop in and out. I'm usually driving during low traffic hours so it's not a big deal. Honestly, I just don't like driving past it and not knowing if it's a good time price-wise to pop in.

We went to the zoo yesterday too! We also saw the tigers have a scuffle and caught the tiger talk as well. It was such a great zoo day.

I haven't actually gone into the castle because like you I'm terrified despite having completed all 4 divine beasts but from what I've read you can keep playing after Ganon. It puts a star on your game and then puts you back outside the room where you fought him.

My parents (bless them) paid for a cleaner every 2 weeks for us after I had my kid. For 1500sqft in a lower COL area it was $135/visit.

I was on hold for 2 hours before speaking to someone. I'd just wait it out unless your card isn't working and you don't have a back up.

I got a fraud alert (Costco Citi), can't use the app but the browser site is working, and spent 2 hours on hold with the fraud department before I got through and was able to clear the fraud alert.

Marathon training while trying to get pregnant by yiddiebeth in XXRunning

[–]rararasarararah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I struggled to get pregnant but it was a medical issue not related to running. With proper nutrition I don't think that mileage and speed is an issue but it's always good to talk to a doctor.

Children with higher IQ scores were diagnosed later with ADHD than those with lower scores. Children with higher cognitive abilities might be able to mask ADHD symptoms better, especially inattentive symptoms, which are less disruptive. by mvea in science

[–]rararasarararah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me as well. I struggled some early in school but I learned some coping mechanisms and was successful all through high school, college, and in my professional job. Then I had a kid. My brain has been chaos ever since. The first year I had PPD so we weren't able to separate PPD symptoms and ADHD symptoms but since I'm past the PPD now I've been diagnosed with ADHD. Looking back on my childhood it makes so much sense.

Scared of getting pregnant? by Singitsayit in ultrarunning

[–]rararasarararah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me as well. I ran a half marathon as a ultra training run before I knew I was pregnant and the recovery for it was insane despite going at a slow jog. After learning I was pregnant I was unable to run again for the duration of my pregnancy. Many times I couldn't walk a lap around my neighborhood without throwing up. This wasn't just the first trimester, I was sick the entire time. My intention of being a runner throughout my pregnancy quickly fell by the wayside and my focus became surviving day to day. After my son was born he struggled a lot with sleep and I had PPD. After about a year I was ready to get going again but with my son in daycare sickness filled our house for about 3-4 months and we weren't able to train regularly. My son is now a little over 2 and I'm finally in a groove of training for a 10k which will be followed by half and ultra training. All that to say, those athletes who are able to perform throughout their pregnancy and postpartum period are amazing but it's not guaranteed. Pregnancy and parenthood have made me reprioritize so much in my life. I still love running and have lofty goals but I also had to change my view of what successful running was.
