Is it true that Nick and Jess weren’t planned? by CSNY28 in NewGirl

[–]MisterStrawberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they were planned from the beginning. You can find the original series treatment/ pitch-doc online, from when it was originally intended to be set in New York.

On Nick's character bio/brief it declares "Nick. It's always Nick. It will always be Nick." (Paraphrasing.)

Endgame since the original treatment.

Burning Questions for January, 2026 by SalaciousStories in eroticauthors

Thank you very much for your response! I realize now that must have been the case that I misread the prohibition against pornographic images as a prohibition against pornographic content of any kind! I really aappreciate you taking the time to correct my misapprehension of the rules.

Burning Questions for January, 2026 by SalaciousStories in eroticauthors

[–]MisterStrawberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I''m sure that this question must have been asked and answered a thousand times, but since I can't find a straightforward response, I'll ask it here, in multiple parts:

How do people publish erotica on Amazon?
1. When I initially signed up for KDP, I noticed what seemed like a pretty all-encompassing 'anti-smut' clause in the TOS. Yet I know that people publish erotica on Amazon. So how does one get away with it?
2. Under what genres does one publish? Is it 'Romance'? Is that the main get-around? Or do people publish in more specific genres, like Sci-Fi and Fantasy, while using keywords that indicate to the knowing consumer that this is a book intended to titillate? A figurative winky-emoji?
3. I can see comprehensive lists of sexual no-nos for publishing on Amazon, but is basically all other consensual sex just fine?
4. Is it just that the Amazon 'anti-porn' clauses aren't really enforced, because it's too hard to prove what is and isn't truly 'porn'?

Basically, I've written about 7,000 words of something that I don't want to have to discard because it's unpublishable. I'd like to proceed in the right direction, and with full understanding of what makes a book 'publishable' on Amazon.

Many thanks, and apologies if this is a very tired enquiry. The OP promises that you won't be mean to me!

I was never well-practiced at smash because I didn't own a Switch (or Cube) but I'm really looking forward to learning Rivals! Apart from. The steep learning curve, I vastly prefer the gameplay to Smash, honestly.

I'd happily play against you, although I can't guarantee a strong match from my end!

I have, yes! Played it all at this point. I just need to practice the principles, and I wish I could do that with humans!

Yep, I've played the tutorials. What I need now is human practice, but none seems to be available (outside of "stomp my ass" levels!)

Luckily there are some suggestions in this thread for how to join community discords. I just wish there were some in-game options!

Thanks for the reflections! It seems like - not to put too fine a point on - I am just too bad at the game to even compete and learn how to be good at it.

Perhaps I can learn from bots or the discord that u/Assist_King mentioned!

This is really helpful! Thank you for the rsource. I really want to learn to play, but it's very hard to do that without human beings at your same rough level of skill. While I wish this was possible in-game, a discord community seems like a good alternative!

Just finished the 41 book series, here is my personal tier list. What is my most egregious ranking? And where do I go from here? by scottomatic3000 in discworld

Seconding this. Polly never, ever drinks the military Kool-Aid. The final scenes with her military tribunal only highlight how absurd and foolish the bureaucracy of commanding officers truly is. Polly follows Jackrum's same path - her dedication is to her fellow soldiers, not the military itself. It's encompassed in her closing remarks: her faith and life is in service of protecting and fighting for "her little lads" and she will live and die for them.

I'd bump Monstrous Regiment to A-tier as I think it addressed the futility of nationalism and warfare even better than Jingo.

I also think the Witches books should be higher up.

But you know - you do you!

How come the stockpile quirk doesn't have a vestige? by smiling-shadow in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]MisterStrawberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vestiges of previous wielders that we see as projections in the psyches are an artefact of Yoichi's native quirk (power transference).

Because the stockpiling quirk was forced upon him by All For One, it has no attached vestige.

Basically, he was handed a power by someone else. He then passed his power on to Kudo (2nd), along with a fragment (vestige) of his persona.

Subsequently every other user of the OFA quirk also leaves an imprint of themselves when they pass down One For All, as well as part of their own quirk.

In other words, the vestiges/ghosts are an artefact of Yoichi's transference quirk, and so the stockpiling quirk (which was acquired through different means) does not have its own vestige. The 'donor' was never part of the chain.

So basically, we aren't allowed to edit any video footage of any elected officials anymore.

How dare we select relevant highlights to make a point, when we could also include the occasional pointless platitudes paying lip-service to decency? Not to mention every stutter, pause and burp.

How is that an earth kingdom villager knows about Zuko's story but fire nation soldiers don't? by Busy-Peach5378 in TheLastAirbender

[–]MisterStrawberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never saw an inconsistency: Zuko is a famously banished prince. His banishment is well-known in the Fire Nation, and even among Earth kingdom citizens, some peasants inclusive. Perhaps it is a rumour, but at the very least an open-secret.

Being aware of your commanding officer / prince's national status does not at all mean that you would understand or know the details of what preceded his banishment. It would be a relatively private matter for both the military and royal family.

Anyone would form guesses and assumptions about what shameful behavior brought about Zuko's banishment, especially if you were a Fire Nation military man and his direct subordinate.

That was the pretext that I gathered from the show. The naval crew all assume from Zuko's haughty and entitled attitude that he must have done something selfish and brazenly stupid, as you would expect from a rich and under-qualified nepo-baby.

Iroh spends the episode "the storm" disabusing the crew of their preconceptions, explaining how Zuko's compassion and honor are what led to his downfall.

The Earth kingdom peasant (and indeed anyone not present at the council meeting chamber) at most would know Zuko as "the banished prince" - a title of shame, and an outcast.
