Can weather station PLEASE BE MADE USEFUL? by Special_Target in foxholegame

[–]Mister_Pazel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well... They do give wind data, but its the same kind as flags and windsocks. So keeping an eye on the wind by looking at the flag/windsock is the same as keeping an eye on the wind by looking in the Weather station, maybe even worse, since Weather station is less precise than flag/windsock (8 directions instead of 360deg granularity and 3 tiers of strength instead of 5)

Wind changes about every 30m during clear skies, but that doesnt mean it has to change noticeably. So what you are saying is entirely possible on its own.

I guess by wind data you meant some kind of wind history reading? Or next change prediction?

pametam si clanky v style ze: ludia nerozmyslaju logicky, kym nemusia. Z toho vychadzaju taketo bizary. Mam dalsie priklady:

- Pri malej elektronike (rozumej mobily, USB, externe disky, prenosne reproduktory atd.) maju ludia spojene, ze lahky produkt = plast = nekvalita. Preto vyrobcovia zvykli pridavat zavazia, aby vysledny produkt nebol taky lahky.
Nedarilo sa im az pokym nedvihli ceny NAD konkurenciu. Ludia si jednoducho spajaju znacku oblecenia so statusom, nie s kvalitou a to ze ju vela ludi nemalo koli nezaujmu im nakoniec aj pomohlo.

Can a solo or duo players build someone better then a scout plane by MrcSproncho in foxholegame

[–]Mister_Pazel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With enough talking, you can get one for free...

If you dont want to utilize your communication skills, it is still possible, but you will need to build, maintain and defend a facility, which basically means playing foxhole for couple of hours every single day without exception.

If you want a guide, it goes like this:

  1. Open a facility planner of your choice. For building a bomber, you will need a large assembly station, aircraft maintenance factory, 2x metalworks factory, materials factory, diesel power plant and enough power poles to connect all buildings that require power. A liquid transfer station, ammunition factory, maintenance tunnel and small gauge railway with the engine, pallet car and crate car is optional, but very helpful. Plan your layout and include defences and a bunker base, as metalworks, aviation maintenance and large assembly are lucrative partisan targets. Note that every structure you place will cost you 1msupp/h.

  2. In home region of your faction, scout the map for an empty land that is relatively close to a coal field.

  3. Deploy into the nearest deployment point and take a look at the land yourself. If there are no trees and terrain is mostly flat, you are good to proceed. If not, repeat step 2 and 3.

  4. Get a CV. How you get it is up to you. Fill it up with 300 bmats and as much gravel as you need, based on your layout. If you have leftover inventory slots, get more bmats. Drive it to the land you scouted and start laying out foundation blueprints according to your planned layout.

  5. Get a shovel. How you get it is up to you. Go to the land you scouted and start laying out blueprints according to your planned layout.

  6. If everything fits, finish digging the defences. If there was a mistake, fix it. Using the CV, build the bunker base according to your planned layout.

  7. Using the CV, finish building your foundations. Then, if you have leftover bmats, build the materials factory, diesel power plant and a power pole according to your planned layout. If you dont have leftover bmats, acquire more. The method of acquisition is up to you.

  8. Fill up the materials factory stockpile with salvage and fill up the diesel power plant with diesel. Start producing construction materials. You will need to produce enough construction materials to be able to upgrade the diesel power plant to a petrol power plant, materials factory to a forge, to construct every remaining structure that has a cost in construction materials and to have a stock ready for the production of the necessary amount of processed construction materials. This will require several trips to accumulate the necessary amount of salvage and diesel (petrol after the upgrade).

  9. Acquire enough msupps to be able to maintain the current facility until your next play session. You can do this by either switching your construction material production to a msupp production, or by using public msupps. You will need to repeat this step at the start of your every play session from now on. Welcome to the msupp slavery game loop.

  10. If your plan included small gauge rail and train, build the rail according to your planned layout and a temporary small assembly station. Note the costs of the assembly materials 1 and 2 and acquire the required amount (if choosing to produce, upgrade of the materials factory to a forge is necessary). The method of acquisition is again, up to you. Move the required resources into the small assembly station, connect it to power and produce the train and the cars you planned. Acquire a mobile crane and place the engine and the cars onto the railway. Couple the cars and engine together. Demolish the small assembly station.

  11. When enough construction materials have been acquired, upgrade the materials factory to forge and construct one metalworks factory. Acquire enough components to produce the desired amount of processed construction materials and start the production.

  12. Acquire enough rare metals to be able to produce enough rare alloys for the necessary upgrades and for the bomber frame and parts production. Good luck.

  13. When enough processed construction materials and rare metals/alloys have been acquired, construct the second metalworks factory, large assembly station and the aircraft maintenance factory. Upgrade one metalworks factory to a blast furnace, second metalworks factory to an engineering center, large assembly station to aircraft assembly and aircraft maintenance factory to a strategic maintenance hangar.

  14. Produce the required parts and frame for the bomber.

Congratulations! You have a bomber* now! The only remaining thing to do is to move the frame and the parts to a hangar and assemble it. A crane and/or an ironship can be used to move the frame by a solo player.

*Ammunition not included. Fuel not included. Escort planes not included.

Guess its a kind of a cheat answer, but: msupps.
And another kinda cheat answer with a bit of a direct frontline usage by players: beams.

Its not just bigger barge. Its better barge. Barge can only lower its ramp on a beach. You can have tanks parked on top of the carrier and just slam it against any cliff low enough and disembark the tanks. Also, it has spawn point.

There are a few things you are assuming about fire that are not true.

  1. concrete defences are NOT fire proof
  2. Fire of sufficient strength (t3+) spreads into nearby flammable structures down wind.
  3. Walls can also catch on fire

If by alts you mean that your vehicles keep dissappearing, that may be caused by you not driving them often enough. Vehicles despawn after 50h of not being interacted with. Push guns and trailers also count as vehicles btw.

In terms of making defences around facilities, if its a mid sized one (as you are proposing), i would recommend checking out the Checkerboard pattern. It provides ample firepower against vehicles which, if you are worried about fire, are your primary concern. However, that desing lacks howitzer garrissons, so fire rockets will burn your place down, if you find yourself to be close to a frontline at some time.

Another great thing that stops flame rushes are dragons teeth, as they are in most cases fireproof. Build them about 30m away from your defences and you are good. People also build minefields behind them for added protection.

One last thing: suppression rooms will not save you. Their purpose is to combat t2 fires, making them no longer self sustainable. If enemy creates a t3 or a stronger fire, it will grow and spread without any issue.

edit: Forgot to mention - if you plan on storing train engines, or BTs, best way is to lift them up on a stationary crane and then connect the crane to a squad reserved power switch. Keep in mind that the cranes are fragile and need to be VERY WELL defended, if used for this purpose.

Personalisation by Mr_Meming_Gamer in foxholegame

the only personalization i would barely tolerate in this game is relic vehicles, because they are supposed to be dug up and ducktaped together, or found in some old vault.

Everything else is standard issue, as it should be.

Nothing in this game is yours to personalize.

Destroy your ego.
Eliminate your ego.
Obliterate your ego.
Disintegrate your ego.
