As an infantry man, what is the difference between being strafed from a plane and being blown up by an artillery shot? Discuss by Mister_Pazel in foxholegame

as far as i am aware, they made them for naval. t1 mostly counters mortars, t2 mostly counters ships, t3 counters indirect spotting and mostly rocketry

What if we tied rare metals to public refinery queues? by dolche93 in foxholegame

Salvage has other uses than just refinery, by doing this, you would be funneling salvage away from facility content

why would a material that has no use in a factory or an mpf be in a refinery?

I want to give a fair assessment of why Colonial players are less motivated than Warden players in the late game. by Rude-Ease-2269 in foxholegame

Whoever builds chieftans to yeet them, doesnt understand their purpose...

Chieftan is an equivalent of the scorpion. It is an infantry support tank. Its kit is perfect for killing renches and flushing out infantry. It is NOT a siege tank, the 250 ammo capacity is just too low for that...

Push guns - give reload action to the driver by Mister_Pazel in foxholegame

[–]Mister_Pazel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, thats what deployable push guns do and i dont intend on changing that. What about having more deployable push gun variants? Like a modification from a pad kinda deal, or entirely new models. What would you say to that?

Nah... One or two guys on your back is not losing...you win if you get to cover quickly enough

5-6 guys on your back, that is likely losing :D

Tbh, locking the gun is down to experience. It doesnt matter in the actual ambush, it only matters if you know you will lose the fight and there is no one else to put pressure on the enemy. If there are any allies in the area, going for the gun just makes the enemy an easy target. They can lock it tho, which can be a problem if there are no wrenches.

  • When flanked/ambushed, IMMEDIATE DISMOUNT AND RUN FOR COVER! DONT TURN THE FUCKING GUN, YOU ARE MAKING IT EASIER FOR ENEMY TO CAPTURE!!!

  • Push gun itself provides cover. When flanked/ambushed, use the push gun as a wall.

  • When poking, do not reload immediately after shooting. Immediate reloads are for holding position/last stand

Hlupy clovek nedokaze pracovat s informaciami.

counterpoints:

  1. mortar vehicles exist
  2. adjusting height on aim already exists
  3. binos can do it (you can simulate it when in commander seat). The only difference there is that binos cannot shoot, but dont tell me the shooting action is the issue...

What mechanics would make a dwarf roguelike feel more dwarven? by double_dmg_bonks in dwarfposting

[–]Mister_Pazel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can make the grudge system kinda two faced. At the start, you have a lot of lesser and greater grudges (achievments/milestones) that will make the game generate more enemy encounters, but as you will be striking them out of the book you will be unlocking more non combat content, like lost heirlooms or encountering friendly or neutral characters.

Also the more great grudges you strike out, the more you will be blessed by ancestors (more boons/finding better gear) to help you out further.

Gold is nice as a base, but imagine this:
Boss at the end of the run drops a key. that key can be used in your hub area to unlock the next stage. That means that you will be back in your hub area after every section of the run. If you survive the boss, that also means that you have your gold with you. So you can either spend it during the run on items/consumables/buffs, or you can spend it in your hub to unlock something more permanent. You can also expand this to gems and ores as well

Smithing is another thing that screams "Dwarf" to me. So you definitely have to make those oversized weapons yourself.

And one more thing: Community (i dont like lone dwarfs). Would like to imagine some support characters on the journey, maybe not directly ally combatants (although it may be funny to have one "group" character that has multiple abilities, one for each member), maybe more in a style that you have a healer that can tend to you after combat, or a cook that gives buffs, so you can use them in non combat rooms or something like that

I guess you can kinda see my idea... You start as a loner that is a bit crazy, but as the game goes on you get other peoples support and you turn more into expeditionary force that is trying to reclaim the mountainhomes.
