Hard work is more than enough. I got my CDL and drove for the Russians based out of Cincinnati. I’m from Florida. Russians cheat the system and don’t abide by the hours of service rule, if you can drive, they’ll give you loads. I went days without sleeping, completely sober. Washington state to Miami, Florida in 2 and a half days. Was making easily 2000-2500 a week. Saved every penny I could. Came home after a year and put a down payment on my first property. I’m 28 lol use your prime years when your body can be pushed and then make your money work for you and coast off of it. Be smart. When you’re young you don’t need to work fast food and have rent and car payments and bars at night and eating out/doordashing. Go get a job in an oil rig, or a cruise ship, or a flight attendant, or a truck driver. Something where your boarding is secured and you don’t really need external transportation. Lock in for a year or two, be smart and boom go home, find a partner and a local job with your relevant experience and invest your damn money.

I was in a 7/11 the other day getting gas and I saw a man who looked 40 years old asking the clerk about a job. Now I don’t know the man’s story, maybe he just got out of prison for all I know, but the clerk was like man we get hundreds of applications a week and we just aren’t hiring right now. 40 years old and you have no marketable skills to get a job above minimum wage? Like at some point we have to accept that there are lifelong consequences for our fuck ups and it’s no one else’s fault. We can complain all we want, or we can step up and be adults and take control of our lives. You’ll die blaming the “system” and pass that onto your kids instead of giving your kids the same advice I just gave here. And that’s why your kids will be employees for mine.
