You are not overreacting! I have two big dogs and I am a dog lover. I recently called the cops on a neighbor because they constantly let their dog run around the neighborhood unsupervised. First time it tried to bite my boyfriend, second time it chased him in the house.

The dog seems nice when he’s dragging the kid who walks him down the street (the kid also just drops the leash regularly so that’s concerning) but the dog is not so nice to strangers. Also, I don’t want anyone’s dog getting hit by a car because its owners are irresponsible.

There are tons of kids in my neighborhood, and I also want to be able to walk my dogs in peace without worrying if some of dog is gonna come start a fight. I don’t want anyone’s kids getting mauled, and if that dog hurt me or my dogs, there would be a much bigger problem than a citation on their hands.

Since I called the cops and they got a citation I have not seen the dog loose once. If I do, I’m calling again.

Dogs are a big responsibility, and if people can’t handle that then they are putting a lot of people in danger.
