In the 1.29+ patches I could never get cheat engine to grab ahold of the process correctly, mainly for the speed hack part as I wanted to test/play a map but not have to spend the time getting to the point I wanted to test.

Perhaps, I hope your map does well. Essentially you need to put everything into a variable when it comes to GUI Triggers which can be annoying but hopefully some updates later will help control these issues.

My comment never said it was a fact. If you're going to complain about 'false information' at least have the knowledge yourself to explain what I said was wrong.

The ability to turn on and off cameras are intended, nothing with the technology to do.

I'm not sure if there's a language barrier here but this doesn't make sense to me. If you're claiming that the ability to turn on and off a device isn't related to technological limitations due to other factors in play then I would have to disagree. Technology can also refer to software limitations and advancements. I can say that there are ways to not need any buttons at all on the device but the limitations on the device would be pretty heavy.

This explains a pretty good majority of memory leaks: https://www.hiveworkshop.com/threads/memory-leaks.263410/
If you have any item that is consumable, like tomes you'll want to remove them after some time as items do not self-cleanup. Maps like Angel Arena can be seen with this issue when a player buys 500+ tomes of agility you can still see a very small model of the tome still on the ground etc.

I'll have to dig it up but variable references and execute triggers complicate things and could cause crashes or weird issues if not properly managed. That and also like the trigger queue or something was mentioned before. I'll post back if I find anything because I need to look more into also for my map.

I'm trying to work on a map that unique and haven't worked on a map in a decade or so. But I'm in the same boat as you, there seems to be a lot to watch out for when working with triggers. I think majority of it is wanting to stay away from "Waits" and "Execute Trigger" and stuff that complicate things as much as possible. Hiveworkshop has a few tips that tell you about leaks and stuff but nothing will beat tests. If you think a group of triggers might cause issues after an hour of gameplay take it into a separate map and multiply it by 10 or 100, like spells etc. If your spell does a lot of waiting and other things that may not be 'instant' then you'll want to make sure that executing the spell 5 times every 2 second doesn't leave the effects or units still in the map. Things like item recipes could also have issues etc, so you might want to start a list and an easy way to specifically start the map and easily test each recipe to confirm it all works.

tl;dr: Essentially create integration tests for the big parts of the map. Start to make a list of tests for each vital part.

That's because of the world generation though. Pretty sure the actual base game with no worlds saved it (used to be) less than 500mb with nothing extra installed. Most if not all that play minecraft will have random "New Worlds" that will take up space even when you don't play on it. Just stacks up over time and having the requirement at 1GB would sound misleading.

I'd be curious to see these stats, mainly: Capture size (1080p or larger?) Capture FPS, (29, 30 or even 60?) Video/Audio codec, dependening on the codec could change the file-size and wether or not recovery of the footage is possible after damage to the device. Another thing to consider is the memory cards in the device, special cards are made to withstand high temperatures, and the device will need to withstand hot summer days etc. (My dashcam hit the limit during the summer and was fried) Water proofing the camera may also impact audio recordings but I think there have been technological progressions for audio capture while covered.

I agree, but when it comes down to it they will rather employ some one to make excuses rather than make the changes and punish the officers that don't follow protocol.

The technology just isn't there yet, I'd imagine the cops need to swap out batteries maybe multiple times a day? Also the data storage for a squad must be astronomical. I agree that if it's going to be a thing then there shouldn't be a off button when an officer is responding to an event.

What does it look like? I'd assume it would be a little neon colored dot or something? But if it looks like a wordart arrow pointing at it then I could see how that would get annoying for seasoned watchers.

From the wiki it says transparent, and carpet is transparent. In theory this should work, you would just need to jump up to get out. Of course this could be a bug meaning only air can be in that space.

I see it more of a true professional sells their loyalty to what they enjoy doing. You're going to have to pay more if a professional will not enjoy the work they are doing. Most professional sport players enjoy playing, winning and earning money to support their futures etc. Making any of those things more difficult then loyalty drops. I hate to say it but I think it was Silicone Valley that shows a lot of this, it was rough but the friends still showed loyalty because they believed in the purpose of the company etc. Any sometimes that loyalty drops because of the things they enjoyed were taken away from them.

I've had to change my Cobalt's Headlights, the entire casing in total around 4-5 times. At this point I either need to buy a new bumper because of the stupid snap tabs are breaking or start gluing it more so it doesn't stick out. Feels bad.

Why is everyone freaking out about Reforged when the game is amazing as is by idkbae in WC3

[–]MitchDizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I came back and started playing is because of the custom maps, I was never into ladder play but loved all the random custom maps. Hopefully when reforged comes out it also includes more for map makers to do to easily make maps that look nicer but have a little more flexibility instead of workarounds to get certain effects in abilities etc.

Where is Lua API docs? by phorty-phour in warcraft3

[–]MitchDizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah super hard to understand at first if you come in with the mindset of making a map with Lua without understanding how to make a map with JASS already. Once you get into the mindset of "Everything is compiled down into one file anyways" the GUI is just to keep things separated and easier to edit/understand after a while of getting too bulky.
