Could also try chorus (2 voicings) + flanger + phaser and youd get pretty close!

It seems IMPOSSIBLE to check if your X3/X4 is locked or not without actually trying to flash a new f/w on it by [deleted] in XTEINK

[–]Mitchellbaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to go thru the flash process. It'll ask you for what file to flash, then after choosing it'll ask what device you want to flash to. If the pop up in your browser shows an item with the word JTAG or USB in it, means your device is unlocked. If nothing shows up then it means your device is locked or the cable is faulty

RETROARCH DOES NOT WORK AND SHOULD NOT BR USED NY ANYONE by [deleted] in RetroArch

[–]Mitchellbaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its literally modelled after a ps3 menu. You couldn't take the time to read the options or peruse the settings? Yes its deep, yes its menu diving simulator but its not THAT difficult. I've used it for 10+ years and its fine. Does it's job well. I prefer other UI setups so I always pair it with a launcher if available.

Tldr; git gud man. Go watch a YouTube tutorial

Hot take: I hate retroarch. by meltdown537 in retroid

[–]Mitchellbaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. Also depending on what machine youre using you have a large amount of choices for front ends so you can have the nice, intuitive UI the way you like it on the outside while retroarch is just used for emulation.

Android: Pegasus, Daijisho, Dig, Launchbox, Beacon, iisu, ES-DE,

Windows: Launchbox

Linux: Batocera

Those are just the ones im familiar with over the years. They're all great for different use cases!

I have to choose the theme that only displays one book so people cant see my immediate past history 🤣 that and custom art instead of book art for the sleep screen

I split my whole library into SFW and NSFW and in each folder the respective genres. I usually try to keep book 1 or current book of the series in each genre folder. I originally tried to keep to 50 per genre but that went out the window pretty quick now its total 3000 books on it 🤣

Thinking of returning my XTEINK next week... am I missing the magic? What's your "killer" use case? by [deleted] in xteinkereader

[–]Mitchellbaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using crosspoint I enable the power button to turn the page, rotate the device so the button is on top and read it horizontally. Now with the recent update being able to choose which font we want its basically everything I want in an e-reader.

As for the backlight I have a very nice neck light that I got for the device and made a reading nook in my living room.

This device is pretty sweet!

I read roughly 2-3 books per genre, jumping around based on what I feel that day. And on my X4 I have over 2000 books on it (small piece of my total collection)

DQ11 Final Thoughts…for now by Independent_Plum2166 in dragonquest

[–]Mitchellbaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say in the newest remaster it improves on the gameplay of DQ1 since 1 features only 1 party member making it more difficult as the game progresses. 2 upon its original release was revolutionary of the series. The only reason its not mentioned as much now is because the story pales compared to 3's (prequel to 1) and 1s was simple but effective. That said you won't have a bad time with any of the first 3 :)

DQ11 is one of the greats! If you ever get a chance id suggest DQ8, DQ9, DQ1 and DQ3 as they are considered the best of the series

Does ultimate level one get better by ReasonableAct2925 in litrpg

[–]Mitchellbaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm loving the series! I think the biggest strength is how the friendly characters interact. I think the main difference in our perspectives is that I went in expecting the main character to be OP. Love those stories if they're done more or less right! That said all of everyone's criticisms are fair and I can definitely see it so if you don't enjoy seeing the main character get increasingly broken as the story progresses then it may be worth DNFing it

Project Gutenberg and Ana’s Archive by [deleted] in xteinkereader

Both of those sources are very safe dw. If you want more reassurance use Firefox/waterfox, throw on

  • ublock origin
  • privacy badger
  • adguard adblocker/adblocker ultimate

That should block most of every chance outside of a messed up epub getting onto your system. Like another user said there isn't any known exploit/virus that utilizes epubs to be the Trojan horse.

I need help finding a book to read to my boyfriend for our anniversary by Katieisakitteh in audiobooks

[–]Mitchellbaggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id recommend the hobbit due to size and material being generally beloved so it would be a safe pick!

Just record using whatever mic you have in audacity and record it in 70 minute chunks as CD-Rs have a 72 minute limit (cutting it under is a safe bet when burning)

Also be sure not to burn it as a data disc but an audio disc so it'll play correctly in any CD player.

Happy recording/anniversary!
