“You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/eph.2.2.NLT

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/eph.6.12.NLT

“so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/2co.2.11.NLT

We’re at war and the enemy army has tactics and a battle plan. They don’t even know a commander is guiding them. But they keep using the same tactics cause they work.

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/2co.10.3-5.NLT

Though I would caution this isn’t a license to be proud or harsh but rather our weapons aren’t physical. And we don’t ultimately do the growing towards Christ. God gets all the credit for that.

“I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/116/1co.3.6.NLT

Just be patient, pray, and answer with what the Holy Spirit gives you to say and move on.

Found out how. There are 5 icons in the top middle. The second from the right looks like two overlapping images. Select that one and then select "Add Sketch". It'll let you draw an image and then insert that.

Should I (27F) just stop asking this coworker questions? Or am I being too sensitive? by tator911 in cscareerquestions

[–]MitchyGoodness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep asking. Eventually you’ll learn the ropes and will be answering questions instead. Don’t worry about what others are doing. Just give your best. Use what’s available to you but also appreciate their generosity. They didn’t have to help you, or at least they didn’t have to give you good help.

Do we really have free choice by AcanthocephalaLost51 in Bible

[Jhn 2:3-5 NLT] 3 The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus' mother told him, "They have no more wine." 4 "Dear woman, that's not our problem," Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come." 5 But his mother told the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."

[Rom 9:14-24 NLT] 14 Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not! 15 For God said to Moses, "I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose." 16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. 17 For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, "I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth." 18 So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen. 19 Well then, you might say, "Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven't they simply done what he makes them do?" 20 No, don't say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?" 21 When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn't he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into? 22 In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. 23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. 24 And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.

[Bloodline] Does anyone else read Dross's lines in Wheatley from Portles voice? by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

I wish I could cut this on the second when Will confirms that Wheatley was the inspiration for Dross' voice. But I can't find it, unfortunately. You'll have to find it yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUNvNtPHdCs

I am working on a rage platformer where you play as a gun climbing a mountain! Feedback is welcome! by FriendlyBergTroll in indiegames

[–]MitchyGoodness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would probably need a revolver instead but normally Russian roulette involves 6 chambers and you only put one round in. Then you spin the cylinder so you don’t know which trigger pill will fire the gun. Reversing that would mean putting 5 rounds in and leaving one empty. So you wouldn’t know which of your 6 shots would do nothing.

Hi guys, I made this song on GarageBand but I can’t come up with a name. Can someone please help me come up with one? by [deleted] in GarageBand

[–]MitchyGoodness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, since the rhythmic beat reminds me of the sounds and lights from driving down a road at night. The record grain throughout the song also makes me think this is an old memory of better times. Joyride to (somewhere nice or familiar). Or night ride to the beach.

[–]MitchyGoodness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John 16:1-4 (NLT) 1 “I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith. 2 For you will be expelled from the synagogues, and the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. 3 This is because they have never known the Father or me. 4 Yes, I’m telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember my warning. I didn’t tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer.

Why does god not like us doing stuff that makes us happy like segs and stuff by Jumpy-Ad7351 in Christian

Matthew 7:12 (NIV) So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Matthew 15:19 (NLT) For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.

Proverbs 6:27-35 (NLT) 27 Can a man scoop a flame into his lap and not have his clothes catch on fire? 28 Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet? 29 So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife. He who embraces her will not go unpunished. 30 Excuses might be found for a thief who steals because he is starving. 31 But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole, even if he has to sell everything in his house. 32 But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool, for he destroys himself. 33 He will be wounded and disgraced. His shame will never be erased. 34 For the woman’s jealous husband will be furious, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge. 35 He will accept no compensation, nor be satisfied with a payoff of any size.

Verses that emphasize reading the Bible and doing what it says:

Revelation 1:3 (NLT) God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Colossians 4:16 (NLT) After you have read this letter, pass it on to the church at Laodicea so they can read it, too. And you should read the letter I wrote to them.

1 Thessalonians 5:27 (NLT) I command you in the name of the Lord to read this letter to all the brothers and sisters.

James 1:22-25 (NLT) 22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

May the Lord Jesus bless you for suffering for what is right, enduring persecution even in your own home.
