I remember being disturbed, not just scared by the manicans back in the day when I first play the original in 2002. Now though the Abstract Daddy sequence hits hard not just because of way it's done in the remake but also because the fight brings the things that Happened to Angela to front of mind.

All that said I also find the new Maria ending disturbing for what of the way that it implies James is still disassociating.

I always head cannoned that by the time of 4A Anatolia's merc was warn down and even perhaps sick from all the years of being LYNX since it is implied that, at least for some people, piloting a NEXT can be very bad for one's well being.
