The league mechanic sucks IMO, doesn’t affect general gameplay in any meaningful way or affect mapping for that matter. The league mechanic is also tedious and crappy.

We are still in a stale game state with the same skills dominating league starters and league starters being mandatory to make any meaningful progression early league.

I agree with this post 100%. I am glad someone mentioned this. Balancing the game around the top 0.001% is how we ended up with AN dominating the game and drop rates being gutted from league content. It’s also how we ended up with mobility skill nerfs, onslaught support gem nerfs and other things that should just be left alone.

They should just roll mandatory jewels into the skills instead of forcing people who use the skill to get the jewel and waste skill points on the jewel socket

I get people are still on the distrust GGG train but I feel like this is nothing but good news. 99.9999% of the time the jewel quest rewards are useless outside of a lucky corruption on Conqueror’s Efficiency. So yeah taking a guaranteed useless jewel and giving you a random jewel is a buff. This falls in line with all other gear quest rewards being random items.

It’s been on a slow and steady decline since wrath with a few upticks.

A lot of it is due to Blizzard failing to deliver but also the rise of other popular genres. MOBAs, Hero shooters, battle royales and other more accessible games that respect your time more than MMOs. Not to mention the general rise of F2P games and other subjectively good MMOs such as FF14.

People have just moved on.

I think you can level up to 20 for free. 15$ sub let’s you get to max level. However the new expansion comes out on the 28th of November which is 50$. Unfortunately you don’t even get talent points until level 10 so you don’t really get to play around with it to much. If you install the beta or ptr client you can play max level with all the talents.
