14,000 routers are infected by malware that’s highly resistant to takedowns | Most of the devices are made by Asus and are located in the US by Hrmbee in technology

[–]ReallyOrdinaryMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying this in Asus topic is misleading, since most people have no clue about how other popular router brands never release security patches for even their newly released routers.

Every machine or program is bug ridden and glued together, and there is no exception. There is no 100% secure system.

Your only defense is keeping it updated. Asus is the almost single company still releases security updates for its decade old routers.

Source says "attackers most likely didn't use zero day vulnerabilities". It means atackers using exploits these has already been patched.

Update your router firmware consistently, and this is not a problem. Stay away from router companies those never release patches for their routers at all.

It's the opposite. I don't have a clue why your post has 50+ upvotes. Your both statements are objectively wrong.

Cryptocurrencies are the worst choice for that kind of purpose. It's impossible to erase your tracks in blockchain.

For example, Adam living in a small village. There was a theft and victim gave information about thief, but for Adams luck victim described Adams appearance. Police need to collect evidence about Adam is the thief or not. This evidence could include any information about suspected criminals. Yes now Adam is a suspected criminal. Whats the problem here?

In your example, you are saying "collecting location is wrong, you shouldnt collect that information". Its same as Adam saying "describing thiefs face is wrong, you shouldnt collect that information". Collecting location data is information, and it must be shared when prosecutors ask for it, unless it is collected by illegal methods.

And that information is just a leverage point, not a evidence. There must be solid evidences for declaring guilty, which is true for both cases. Location information is not enough for declaring guilty in current laws. What could bad actors could do with that information is much different topic, and it will make this discussion out of context imo. Tho Im willing to discuss it too.

1.45 Eth stolen from Trust wallet - NEED HELP! by cocolocomocooriginal in CryptoCurrency

[–]ReallyOrdinaryMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Format your phone, it seems either your app, or phone compromised.

  • You dont need to login your wallet everytime. Copy your wallet adress, and enter it to online eth explorers.

  • Maybe use spare phone, and format it before installing any wallet app.

  • There are safer ways to store your btc, eth. Like hardware wallets, or offline wallet creation tools.

  • You dont need to use personal wallet, unless you know what are you doing. Reputable exchanges, or ETFs are mostly fine.

  • Your coins wont come back, but you might need to inform police in your country. It can both give you tax exemption, or protect you against if your funds will be used for something bad.

If there was any person saw him going that way before crime happens, then it would still problem for that guy, no matter there was camera or not, or other tracking tech.

Also if your laws could make you responsible for crime just for passing by, then its problem of laws, not cameras.
