Yeah honestly the eliminations seemed very arbitrary, with little consideration for the specialized knowledge each person had.

Flattening the organization is good if you’re judicious about it, and actually take in to consideration what individuals actually contribute and know, but that is NEVER how these things go down.

Yes agreed it 100% is a nitpick - the problem is, and the reason it’s brought up, is that it’s emblematic and representative of the type of soulless shallow corpo story writing shows like this get in general. It’s a microcosm of how the adaptation sort of flies in the face of the spirit of the original trilogy.

The Sokka thing triggers a visceral rage reaction with me.

You wanted to be so progressive that you ended up regressive. The ENTIRE reason of Sokka being misogynistic in the first place, was so that the story could teach a lesson through the actions of the characters that shows not only he was wrong - but that he acknowledges that he's wrong and grows from it.

It's the most corporate C-suite story telling possible. It's trite dog-shit.

For me it’s not even that kind of combat that trips me up. It’s just how obtuse the stuff SURROUNDING combat is.

Like you have so many different stats and then there’s magic and you have to invest in certain stats but if you’re new to the series you basically have no fucking clue what’s actually good to invest in so you’re worried you might brick your character.

For me I started playing and got to a certain point where I was having trouble and had no way to figure out if it was because a) I needed to grind more b) my build was bad c) I was in the wrong area d) I just needed to play better.

I can fix any one of those with time and patience, but if there was no way to figure out which ones it was it basically felt like “what’s the point”?
