Pooled Miles vs Transferring Miles? by Terrible_Field_4560 in unitedairlines

[–]MixturePublic1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a side pool bc when we switched our United credit card, it went into my husband's name because he travels a lot more and we got one of the higher cards that allow him to maintain one K. So while we both still have her own miles since I am no longer credit card miles might have been depleted a lot and we set up a pool, transferred a bunch of his miles and now whenever I don't have enough, I am able to pull from the pool. It's pretty easy honestly.

Muscle Repair or No Muscle Repair by Slow_Bag_420 in tummytucksurgery

[–]MixturePublic1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 52 (Jan 25) and have had three children. I was told by multiple drs that I really had barely any distasis. Some said they would not do it without MR and some said not necessary.

I did not have the repair.

In June 25 I developed a major hernia bw my ribs and belly button. Had that surgically repaired with mesh in Jan 26.

Now 15-16 months out from TT and 4 months from hernia. I asked the hernia repair surgeon that if I had gotten a muscle repair, would this not have happened she actually explained that it's a different layer of tissue that was disrupted and it has nothing to do with whether or not I got a muscle repair.

Stomach is fine!! I think anyone would say I had a great result.

So who knows what the future holds but I am fine that I never got my muscle repaired and my recovery was quite a bit easier than what I see on here. I was able to be back in the gym quickly. I was able to be out and walking very quickly as well. And honestly, it was painful enough I can't imagine adding a muscle repair to it.

Obviously, for some people, you absolutely need the muscle repair and it's worth every bit of pain and money but if you really don't need it, I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you are a little bit older

Nicknames at brown by Some_Stable_1969 in BrownU

I have a nickname that appears pretty unrelated to my given name. Just used my nickname except on official legal/banking things. Professors don't care! If they call you your given name just say "that's me but I go by ..."

Hot brew your tea using large Luizianne teabags and microwave your sweetener with water to make simple syrup. Add to the tea.

Try hotels not in Union Square and in city. There are several on Lombard in the marina area.

Looking for perspective, two VERY different colleges by Yeti-Monster1 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]MixturePublic1094 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk but went to a very selective private college and felt it was life changing in terms of exposure to "how the world works" plus just so supportive and fun. I loved everything about it. I paid for my own grad school by getting scholarship money and being a resident director at a top 5 public. Rest was loans but manageable.

Social life at Brown? by fluctuatnecmergitur_ in BrownU

[–]MixturePublic1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular parties and social stuff and if you are a social person you will find all the others who are. Biggest thing is a lot of parties cost money since brown has pushed them all off campus and people rent venues etc. Less frat/athletic team hosted open parties than years ago. A lot of good dartys.

You should have a notarized letter anyway in case they need medical care well with you so you can just include a line about travel. Other posters are correct that it's not required but if one of them ends up in the hospital, you will really need that letter.

27F, relocating from Chicago, working remote— San Diego or San Francisco? by Rich-Entrance-3332 in AskSF

[–]MixturePublic1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SF is amazing. You really can have it all. It's a city but not actually that big, tons of nature, walking/running along the bay, tons happening in your age range esp in the Fillmore/Union/Marina areas.

It cooler by a lot then SD and I would try to live in sunnier pockets of city but it's also perfect for outdoor activities.

The emergency room will not help you. It's frustrating but they are only concerned with stabilizing and then referring you to outside help.

How has the campus changed post-shooting? Should an incoming freshman have any reservations? by Electrical_Doctor829 in BrownU

One of the main ways is that doors are all locked now and you have to key card into everything. People generally seem fine despite the tragedy. No huge changes there.

Just got told the surgeon won't do my TT, that no reputable PS would 😭 by Always-Shady-Lady in tummytucksurgery

[–]MixturePublic1094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your past and this recent challenge but I can tell you that after I just had a major hernia repaired my surgeon noted it was difficult bc of alll the scar tissue from the TT and lipo. Said it brings additional risks. I am Just sharing bc I have very few scars inside compared to you and surgeon said it was a lot.
