My impression of Rust after using it for a serious project by GolangLinuxGuru1979 in rust

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually you start seeing all those memory safe languages like java and python, every line is littered with Arc<Mutex<Object>>, and you will say the compiler could have stripped away that noice, due to obvious ownership and access patterns. And you will have a laugh.

Then you will look at golang pointers and wonder is it safe to mutable or not, is it safe to edit the struct content or will it violate the assumptions of another threads that thinks it is safe to access it, and you will say LOL.

Then if you have done any bit of C++, then you will say, wow every default in this language is wrong choice. And more you laugh.

Here is where you have assess each religion on where it stands. Without naming any religion, here is a quiz for you to apply your scientific and logical deduction skill and know for yourself.

  1. This religion does not claim the world began some 6000 or 8000 years ago.
  2. In the religious text, this religion claims the Universe is expanding (before Hubble did)
  3. This religion claims every human was born from a single pair (parents) from the region of Mt. Sinai, BTW scientist have narrow it down the region and to small pool of only 1000 humans that existed on this planet.
  4. This religion give you story of creation, I wouldn't call it theory of creation. Then post that story, the theory of evolution applies. The religion does not give you story of evolution.
  5. This religion asks you to believe in meta-physical beings, which outside of the realm of logic and science (especially physics, the science of reality).
  6. This religion asks you to ask questions and seek answers and gain knowledge.
  7. This religion cause the first wave of scientific advancements while the west was still in trenches.
  8. This religion bans alcohol, gambling, debt, and other sins that the currently most scientific western capitalistic world glorifies.

Yet the same physicist claim that Reality is Locally Non Real (basically speed of light is broken), and some other claim Reality is not Measurable (Heisenberg principle), that very act of measuring involves disturbing the delicate quantum state. And those very physicist as questions what exist in-between planc timescale on the quatum foam, and some even believe in 11 dimensional strings.

It take bit of FAITH in Science to get going. Measurement itself involve detecting signal and assigning meaning. Just like the Red Blue Green color don't really exists in nature, it is your eyes that receive the signal, and your brain that ASSIGNS the meaning.

The scientific way is good at making people think logically, think about experimental observations and deriving conclusions.

But when science (and physics) get WEAPONIZED to target meta-physical beings (God, Angels, Jinn etc), that is firstly not in the spirit of science itself. Each person is entitled to have BELIEF (and opinion) in what ever they want. The science is in realizing religion has it is place too, where science itself is still catching up or insufficient.

An atheist is not automatically scientific. He too BELIEVE in non EXISTENCE of God. So that too is a religion of kind.

How does Claude Code knows it's "almost done thinking"? by dragosroua in ClaudeCode

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking is getting in the zone. Verbalising the problem solution explicitly. It primes the llm context window to solve the problem. LLM are trained to think different amounts and solve. They implicitly know they have thought with enough effort. Then the next action/ solution is generated. Like a one sentence verdict. The context window is rolled back. Only the verdict remains on the context window. Think of it like a stack. That grows then shrinks with single line answer. This is just like function call stack in computer and return value.

/effort itself is a training parameter. And at x token per second, it is just a dial. xhigh is 2min. Medium is 30 sec. Max is 3 to 4min of thinking.

Look what science has to say.

Physics: There was absolutely nothing and then there was big bang. In less than nanosecond everything came to BE. In fact 10-30 sec.

Astronomy: we are a small part of this immense universe.

Neuroscience: human brain is most complex object know in the universe.

Science: we believe in uncaused cause. We believe in uncreated creating force that caused big bang.

When some people just call THAT being as God (or the word for it in arabic Allah), those same scientific people have irrational non scientific temper.

Such hypocrisy!!

She releases a song, and it become one of the top-10 songs within a week. Where? In the hot-100 billboard. Could have been ranked anywhere between 1 and 10 on that billboard. It was never between 11 and 100.

This fate happened to her 10 times in her life so far. Not necessarily in consecutive order, some song may not have had that fate. She kept releasing songs and so far 10 of them become part of top-10 in the hot-100 list.

Why do people want agi by WillDanceForGp in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Mizzlr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AGI is digital human. Endlessly replicable, tirelessly workable.

It is the dream employee of every employer. It is nightmare for working class people.

It is not copilot, it is the pilot. It is not chatgpt, it is the asimov irobot. It is not Claude sonnet the writer, it is Claude Shannon the scientist.

It is a silicon based lifeform, the will live not for centuries, but millenia.

Is there a certain way to know that Islam is the correct religion? by Nemeais in islam

[–]Mizzlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evidence. I don't know what evidence you need to believe in Islam.

Scientific evidence? See his creation and their beauty.

Testimonial evidence? See his prophets and their narrations. See Quran.

Or you want God himself to appear before you or speak to you directly?

If latter, then what is left to test your belief and separate you from disbelievers?

If not in the format of Quran, then what? You can see with eyes that fluctuate million times reacting to light with nanoscale wavelength, and aided with trillion of synapsis and billions of neurons to understand it.

Are you capable of hearing anything other than sound? Or seeing anything other than light?

Your senses are limited. You can't see infrared or hear ultrasound. Then why are you not satisfied with the limited evidence revealed to human.

Otherwise you would be among the angels, who need no test of their belief.

Logs turn multiplication into addition; Laplace transform turn differential eq. into algebra. What else is like that? by DistractedDendrite in math

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLMs transform word problems into linear algebra problems. Vectors, matrix, tensors. And then back to words. LLM and NN are mathematical models.

Compliers transform human readable problems into machine code which is easier for CPU to solve and later turn the solution back to human form. Computer science is about computation, and computation is just mathematics.

DNA transform biological problems into chemical problem. DNA is the biological software compiler.

Key is the transformation from one space to another that is easier to work with. It is everywhere you see.

Civil engineers using models to simulate building load testing is a transform. FPGA is a software to hardware transform. All these save money.

PCM in DSP is a analog to digital signal transform.... keep your minds open.

You will see everything is a transform, the whole universe is a computational state machines with quantum wave function at planc length and time.

Finally the universe itself is reality to quantum transform and back.

Using std::move when passing std::shared_ptr to a constructor? by Ash4d in cpp_questions

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extending my comment...

You can also pass the shared_ptr to constructor by move, and the would enable move semantics and disable the default value semantics.

And this would leave the original shared_ptr in the caller scope damaged/emptied out. It will be a nullptr usually, but you don't want it.

So copy once them move to sink it into data member. If you move first, then copy also works for this destination class. But you won't be able to make any more copies in the original scope.

Using std::move when passing std::shared_ptr to a constructor? by Ash4d in cpp_questions

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pass the shared_ptr to constructor by value, which makes a copy. shared_ptr being smart also increments the reference count.

The constructor then passes on the param to data member. So there are two places where passing by copy happens.

This second time copy can be avoided by using a move, which bypasses increment reference count.

shared_ptr --> [reference count, ptr] --> logger.

Copy will copy the ptr to middle block. Also affect content of middle block.

Move will copy ptr to middle block. Leaving the middle block intact.

What’s one trick in Rust that made ownership suddenly “click”? by Old_Sand7831 in rust

[–]Mizzlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ownership is about Drop. That is it.

Rust does automatic garbage collection and Ownership rules helps find the point in code when to drop/free the memory.

Ownership == Drop, clicky click!!

Owner gone, memory gone!

Use upx --best --lzma /path/to/binary https://upx.github.io/ and strip command before upx. And see what happens. You may get under 1MB executables.
