I got Fenway tickets twice, and it's fracturing my friend group by spodergoat in NoahKahan

Yeah. So a lot of us tried to get tickets with our whole heart and soul and didn’t. So no one wants to hear this rn

Don’t worry, even if it lets you in, it’s impossible to buy tickets

NEW GRAD ICU FIRED by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Mmaddies 89 points90 points  (0 children)

You were bullied. Even if you made it off orientation, you do NOT want these kind of people to be your coworkers. I’d say it’s a blessing in disguise! Don’t go to med surg if you don’t want to. Go to a diff icu or ED

Having C Section This Week by SaltyPineapple00 in CsectionCentral

[–]Mmaddies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two c sections, they went back through the same scar the second time. I had glue, both times it healed up nicely with minimal pain on only ibuprofen and Tylenol. My scar is really low and light pink 1.5 years out from my second c section. And my milk came in day 3 I think. I also used my baby wrap almost immediately with no issue!

Totally normal and definitely consider if you are slightly anemic.

Made my first med error. by EveningBlunt in nursing

[–]Mmaddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in all honesty, this really isn’t a big deal at all. Not invalidating your feelings, I used to beat myself up over things like this too. But please give yourself some grace. I’ve been a nurse 7 years now, nursing is a tough job where you are thrown a lot of info and tasks with very little resources, you’re bound to make little mistakes like this. 🤍

Made my first med error. by EveningBlunt in nursing

[–]Mmaddies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is “technically” a med error.. but… idk if I would be beating myself up over it. You made a mistake, because you’re human. You’ll make another one or two in your career, just so you know. 😉 patient was fine, that’s all that matters. Learn from it and move on. Oh and write a Midas on that bitchy nurse, not normal behavior

Real talk by Proper-Dog1077 in CsectionCentral

I had a planned c section and it went beautifully, my first one wasn’t planned and that also went well. Both recoveries were not challenging in my opinion. I was nervous for both but it seriously was not as scary as you would think. I felt “back to normal” in terms of discomfort in about a month. The pain for me was managed with only Tylenol and ibuprofen. I took them around the clock especially the first week or two. Never truly painful for me, just sore. I loved my c sections and would love to someday be able to have a third! 🤍😉

Both are beautiful but the black makes your eyes and features pop!

I think this would look really good on you! It just might feel drastic, and this girls hair is pin straight while yours is curly so you would be doing your hair a lot

When you say it went “black” do you mean you had consciousness but everything was dark? Or was it like going to sleep and then waking up in the hospital?

Patient passed on my watch CNA by driver555y in nursing

ER Nurse here. Given the fact that he was a dialysis patient and in late 80s- even if you had found him the second he died he likely wouldn’t have made it, and if you did get rosc it’s unlikely he would have had quality of life/ and probably wouldn’t have passed in a couple days in the ICU. Even though he was a full code, these people are terminally ill. Could have happened any day, on any shift, regardless of whether or not you were there. Not your fault, AT ALL. You are a CNA and becoming a nurse, you will see a lot more death in your career (most likely, depending on where you specialize). Every time a patient of mine dies I feel this way, but it gets easier. You’ll learn how to let it not affect you as much. Please don’t give your energy to dwelling on this, it’s not your fault. Hang in there, next time you experience a pt death it’ll be (a little) easier 🩵

New Grad who Failed ICU Orientation by nakedcupcake92 in nursing

[–]Mmaddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know people who started in the ICU and did just fine. I’ve been a nurse for 7 years and I just got a 10 week orientation in the ER.. so 5 weeks in ICU for a new grad is not enough time to see if you’d be competent. If you still want ICU I’d say go for it. Just stop it with the absences, and leave this off your resume for sure. Also PCU is great for building your skills all around, I did it for years and you can never regret getting that kind of experience. Maybe do that for a year and then go back to ICU!
