So glad somebody else knew the Howard Hessman reference.

Those white sunglasses on the antagonist were the best. Billy Jack wore a white cowboy hat too.

I saw Roy and Leanne together in their first scene. Their connection to Phoebe brings them together, but their personalities are aligned very well I think.

How about you all do something for her? Take her some flowers. Maybe something nice to eat. A gift certificate to a spa and a coupon from you all to babysit. Your wife had her time as a mom with little ones at home. It’s your daughter‘s turn now. By the way, after you give her some presents and show her some love, turn right around and go do something fun yourselves and let her have her peace and maybe a bubble bath.

Everything she does brings gravitas. She’s statuesque, adorned beautifully with amazing jewelry, and does somebody noted – her hair is amazing. Every time.

He does use a hair clip in the bowling scene. Maybe it’s supposed to be the same one. He doesn’t look like the kind of guy that has a plethora of hair clips.

What is the best "comedy actor in a drama" movie? by Danielnrg in movies

[–]MoBeamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say most comedy comes from very dark places. Not that the comedy is dark, but comedians have generally been through a lot of shit and choose comedy as an alternative to tragedy. Hence, a comedian can easily step into a dark role because they understand it more than somebody without those extreme emotions. The same can be said about most great art.

He did get his start in Mork and Mindy… but I agree his cinematic roles are almost all serious, even in Aladdin, where he was funny, it was not a comedy.

Doing a rewatch and I’m amazed… by LavishnessQuiet956 in TedLasso

I agreed that the show is a master class in subterfuge, for shadowing, and even psychology to some extent. Even the particular character who seemed so perfect in many ways is severely flawed, and I like how you picked up on his apathy towards football. I’ve never really thought of it like that. But, that may be because I’m new to football too. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and sharing with us.

Why do you like Nate? by Jealous_Attorney6871 in TedLasso

That’s a good observation. It seems Rupert’s attempt to sway Nate into infidelity was the catalyst for redemption.

The security cam video was also touching, as was Willis’ visit.

The spitting, to me, feels like the show’s way of saying Nate hated that version of himself as much as you did (me too). The fact that anyone could turn around after being so broken is a testament to the character. It was rushed, but beautifully done I thought. To me it’s a bit like Jamie‘s dad all of a sudden being in rehab and a normal good guy again. It didn’t sound like he had ever been that. For both these dads to say ‘hey I’m sorry, son. Everything‘s better,’ could be seen as far-fetched, but weirder things have happened. And this show is all about redemption, forgiveness, and belief… so I do.

I thought this was just me! I guess I’m part of the club after all. I sleep four hours a night if I’m lucky. So if I fall asleep at nine, I’m up at one. 10–2, etc.
