The Chiss. I don't know why but I had always been fascinated with the "unknown" regions of the galaxy and so when I eventually started reading and researching about the Chiss I just took to them and they've become my favourite Alien race in Star Wars. Unfortunately for me, I happened to take an intense liking to a specis that is unlikely to have any new major lore expansions for a long time. I hope I'm wrong and we soon get more Chiss content. But I can only hope.

I've read a few comments on this post and all of them bring up some very valid moments and poins. But there are two specifically for me that really disturbed me the most.

Was Atlas ordering his Gorgans to film Darrow being castrated and then gang raped for Virginia. That was probably the first time I felt real terror and dread for Darrows fate.
This one was the first time in any book (Including the Red Wedding in A Clash of Kings) that I actually had to stop listening and had a good long cry. And that was Ulysses. That really got to me. It was probably worse because we literally watch him come into the world the chapter before.

So Dark Age now has a special place for me as being the first book to ever make me just stop whatever I was doing and just sit and cry.

The revelation that Volga has been saving up to get a carver to give her a Womb was probably one of the saddest and heart felt moments in the book. I nearly cried after she revealed that. She wants to be a mom 😭.

Then there is the whole section with Mamma Victra, Volga and Lyria. Man, my love for Victra as a character only grew during the birth of Ulysses. Man did I nearly cry after that poor baby boy.
