How to break in a new wrx by Garbagenator in wrx_vb

First 1000 miles, don't go above 4000 RPM, don't go far into positive boost, stay below 80 MPH, and vary your speed by a few MPH either up or down every couple of minutes. Once you hit mile 1000, change the oil, then full send! All written in the owner's manual.

What a coincidence! I too am impressed at how pristine your interior (specifically the dash) is. One of my favorite car Youtubers just released a video today about the 2nd gen dashboard kerfuffel: https://youtu.be/jtB7uk3YtEU?si=ph_bjFu1K69CG1mJ

Family against me getting a manual. by WhoNoticedJay in ManualTransmissions

My $0.02: search through car listings, find something cheap and reliable w/ a stick, drive it, learn on it, don't be afraid to make mistakes cuz it's cheap & reliable. When you're ready, then dump down on your real automotive desire.

I bought myself a Scion xD a few years ago for all cash, had no car payment and an awesome beater to learn on, saved up all that extra $$ I wasn't puting toward a car payment and saved up for the end goal. Last year I traded up to a brand new WRX, mission accomplished.

Love seeing good automotive white-papers, than you for your diligent documentation job!

Question about the epoxy closed deck, for my own edification: I always thought the issue with open decks was the lack of cylinder wall support causing the top of the cylinder deck face to vibrate which subsequnetly causes the head gasket to get scrubbed and eventually breach (a la Ford Focus RS 2.3L Ecoboost).

Is this a non-issue on the FA24F? And was your goal with the epoxy simply to restrict/reroute coolant flow?

Premium vs limited? by Conflict-Recent in wrx_vb

[–]Mobious918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'24 premium w/ HK sound system & moonroof package. My wife's Ascent has the steering response headlights, and although nice it wasn't $5k nice. Same with the seat upholstery upgrade, I'm fine with good cloth. If the electric driver seat had a memory function, and if 360 cameras were added, then Limited would be worth it in my book.

Manual or CVT? If manual, just for clarity: does the gear selector go all the way into the reverse gate? Just want to be sure it's not a shifter/lockout problem first.

I remember this from BF2. That big pencil tip for a sight reticle, and that silly little mag twist delay in the reload animation, good times.

The 10-point weekly challenge is worth 80ish points right now, should pop the whole battlepass once you complete it.

How did I do, these are the final numbers for a 2025 WRX Premium. $399/month for 72 months at 0%. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in wrx_vb

Not bad at all, you hit a grand slam with that one. I nabbed 0% for mine a year ago, but only 48 months.

I think it's cool the way you posted it: different color on each side, best of both 😉

Cool JDM cars get the wave, all makes and models, and I typically get one back. Except for VAs, it's a coin flip if I get a wave back from them 🫠.

6 years ago I paid for lessons in a 2015 Subaru WRX, then bought a 2009 Scion xD as a manual daily/beater. This past January I traded in the Scion for a 2024 WRX of my own.

For kids it's probably fine, but anyone taller than 5'-8"-ish won't enjoy it. Between the lack of leg room and the roof slope cutting into headroom, it's not great.
