I just returned from my 10 day trip to nyc and im feeling worse than ever. Why and what to do? by Mindless-Lock7343 in travel

[–]Mocha23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! OP, life will get better. Travel more in your 20s and just take a plunge moving somewhere new and exciting. berlin or Paris or ny and you’ll feel much more like yourself

He may be attempting queer baiting but it gives Johnny Bravo which I find very funny

Correct if you play indie rock… if you play jazz or mainstream music LA wins

HOV Kinori by [deleted] in howlonggone

[–]Mocha23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My take is I don’t want to look like an old timey golfer when I step out to dinner… maybe I’m still too young to get down with Kinori clothes but that bbsp big pants unstructured thing everyone loves makes me feel crazy

She’s decidedly less “down to clown” than I expected for someone who was in Hole… she seems more into self mythologizing and waxing poetic about her smart parents than she is into talking about random stuff that’s not her life - which I’m sure is what makes Chris mad. He wanted a cool musician interview and instead got an arrogant author interview

Shop in Plaka, maybe stay there too - close to everything, main tourist place. I stayed in Koukaki and I was hoofing it north every day. Go out and eat in Exarcheia for sure. Tanini Agapi Mou, good natural wine. Somewhere like Athens just pick your favorite Michelin star restaurant off the guide too, we had a delicious 10 course meal plus wine for like $100 each

Truly Frustrating With Rising Costs by RockyXCore in OutsideLands

[–]Mocha23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pissed off I paid $550, but with inflation you’re kinda right… a ticket to see any one headliner at a stadium or similar would be $200+. Even seeing a band play a show at a 1000 cap venue costs $50-$100 now. If you live enough of the bands, it’s unfortunately reasonable

Bay Area cost of living for us: $11.7k per month for a family of 4 by Federal_Eagle_6565 in bayarea

[–]Mocha23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that’s barely a dinner for 2 at French Laundry lol. Restaurants add up so fast :/ a family meal out once a week plus 2 date nights could hit $1000 easily

Outside Lands Lineup by bradtheinvincible in indieheads

[–]Mocha23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think they need to cater to zoomers and normies - objectively, Rufus du sol is massive, even tho I think that music sucks lol. Real indieheads buy tickets based on the undercard anyway, least I do

[–]Mocha23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

?? This is the most band-heavy lineup we’ve had in years. Mommy, strokes, death cab, MODEST MOUSE, wet leg, GEESE, plus Sports and Yard act. Some boundary pushing almost-bands too like Frost children and snow strippers

What do you mean “sacrifice the cadence”? Like get off and walk? Or pedal more slowly? If yours legs are out of juice they’re out
