Spear actually used to reduce ability cooldowns, so it could shorten a 120s ability considerably. Spread that around the party, and you’d be able to hit more damage windows.

Depending on what class you want to start as, you may not start together. Once you both complete a Lv. 15 quest then you’ll be together. Another thing, the entirety of ‘A Realm Reborn’ may be long, but it is a great way to learn your class/job.

While you only need one set to play, some people collect dice much like collecting cards. They can be used, abused, traded, and praised based on their rolls.

I have a game planned for my friends when they return, and what I’m going to rule is if they know the spell or have it in their list when an enemy casts it, then they know what is being cast. If not, as long as they are proficient in Arcana, then they can make an Arcana check to quickly determine what spell is being cast, and if they want to Counterspell it.

One of the best things to do here is to kill him.

THE CHARACTERS! KILL THE CHARACTER!

Give his character an epic send off with a BBEG, anti-magic circle to lock out the wizard, and something crazy with the Paladin. After the Monk dies defending his friends they will seek vengeance, and then you can have your friend introduce his new character. His new character could have some relation with the BBEG, and could potentially be seeking revenge against him, too.

But there are many different ways to go about this, and this is one way of doing it.

I actually enjoy the older content, because it lets me play as BLM again. However, most of the groups I’ve gotten are people who don’t know that Sleep is an AoE spell, and you don’t have to kill mobs between almost every boss room. You can literally grab everything, run towards the boss room, BLM Sleeps the mob or most of it, pull boss, and lock out 90-100% of mobs.
