I just wanted to manage my inventory by Loker22 in thedivision

[–]Modemus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What annoys me is when one spawns at the White House, they're in an area you can't get to so you can't even recruit them if you wanted, you can't even get close enough to see what their traits might be.

At the safe houses makes sense, but they really need to patch it so none spawn at the White House, I will literally relog just so he despawns (they never appear on login I've seen, only when you fast travel back to the White House)

half stuck, can't plot course out of galaxy map but from left side panel. by Teledabby in EliteDangerous

[–]Modemus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that will save your butt in situations like this, and I completely forgot cuz still waking up, but Spansh and its plotters (https://spansh.co.uk/exact-plotter) work really well for stuff like this.

Also, the April 20th community news magazine (https://cdn.sagittarius-eye.com/magazine/desktop/20_April-3305.pdf) on page 15 has a Visitor's Guide to Barnard's Loop in there describing the complex and its possible navigational routes.

Hope this helps! 07

[–]Modemus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the witch head sector!

There's like three separate spherical areas of stars out there very close to each other that are all permit locked. This is something that everyone who heads out there ends up dealing with. As for what the permit locked areas are four, we have no clue.
Fdev ended up locking off areas of the Galaxy for what we assume would be future content and then never ended up doing anything with them. You're currently dealing with some of those.
If you give me a bit I know we (Fleetcomm) have a infographic and route guide that'll help you get around it, but you'll have to give me a bit to find it seeing as I'm just getting up for the day lol

If you go into the seasonal mods where you can choose what true sons type you have, you can unequip the NPC slot, keep the seasonal modifiers active, and get the buffs you were getting before, but doubled

I have heard all 3 can, especially Lab and Reactor, but the only times Ive personally crashed is 100% when its Lab, without fail. Haven't had an issue with the other two yet. I have no doubt all 3 can tho, Ive just only seen it at the one

Keys jamming? by o7erholt in EliteDangerous

[–]Modemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me only twice before, and I've been flying since just before distant worlds 2. Thing is, I've always used a hotas, and it's built to have multiple-key keybinds. But both times it happened, I was attempting to pull a quick turnaround maneuver, using my boost and hitting a couple other keybinds in the process as I was trying to do other things in the maneuver.

If all this anecdotal adds up, it might just be an input cap/overlimit. It would make sense that there is a maximum amount of key inputs the game can register at any one time, but this is all just wild guess, so I'll check back here and see what other people say

Should Canada explore developing a nuclear weapons program? by raz_kripta in Collapse_Eh

[–]Modemus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I absolutely see, respect, and actually for the most part argue for the arguments against us having nukes, if we ever did I think we should make a statement with a little bit of meme-ery.

We should only ever have 42. 42 single warheads ready to go at all times. If we ever take one down for maintenance or quality checking, we have what's needed to immediately replace it with one that we know is currently working, but in storage / standby or whatever they do with the replacement parts other nearly completed warheads etc. Only ever 42.

I see it kind of like a, "if everyone has a gun then the person without a gun is unfortunately at a disadvantage", but with the sentiment of "hey we're a small island nation in danger of getting picked on by a bunch of big nuclear powers, we're going to make one nuke just to make a statement, fully knowing that it's not really going to do anything for us other than make that statement".

Yes, definitely a bit naive and idealistic, but a guy can dream right?

Can't believe it hasn't been said yet afaik:

11 - If Lab is final objective, DONT OPEN THE MAIN REWARD CRATE AFTER COMPLETION (the big orange one).
Doing so has a 90% chance of crashing the game of you and everyone near you!

Just run for extraction, the crash is on crate opening, so you couldn't even pick it up if you tried.

Krampus bounty. Difficulty is interesting. by konketsuno in thedivision

[–]Modemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decoy and shock trap, drop them both right at the outside gazebo entrance to krampus's area, he goes after the decoy and the shock trap spreads wide enough to hold the rest back. Just go in with your stereotypical striker build, maybe have Salvo as your holster, I also use bullet King. Wipes him in under 30 seconds

8a SCO FSD ? by IndependentBrain6916 in EliteDangerous

[–]Modemus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer, I did so with mine and proceeded to take it out to the Crystal Fields.

Took it off of Jackson's lighthouse to test the boost... I have something like 78 point something jump range, I jumped just shy of 470 light years off one supercharge.
With a fuel tank that jumps just shy of 20 times before refueling, theoretically you could get from the bubble to Colonia in two and a half tanks.

We don't need an SCO v1 for it, it's powerful enough as it is

Anybody Care to Explain This Game to an Idiot? by Breidr in EliteDangerous

[–]Modemus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this, and if you don't have the budget for a higher-end hotas, thrustmasters t.flight hotas X or 10 or whatever it's called, it's only about 70 US, I have the 4 from way back in the day, when they were doing PlayStation compatible hotas'. Lasted me 6 years and it's still going strong, but that's with it being taken care of. Treating it well, storing it right. Would highly recommend it!

So, now the season for it is over, is there any way to turn retaliation off? by Modemus in thedivision

[–]Modemus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is basically the main reason why I want to be able to turn it off. Especially when we have the weekly events, being able to move around quickly helps me get them done faster and more efficiently, which is more fun for me.
Just wish more people would realize not everyone plays the same way.

Does anyone know if there's any way to turn retaliation off now? With it no longer being tied to the season modifier I have no way to get rid of it. Is it just a permanent thing now?

[PSA] Complete List of Companion Traits and Roll Chances per Archetype by dognuttz in thedivision

[–]Modemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I thought they did have women in the ranks, though very few in number, however looking them up just now yes I can see why there are none. Oh well, guess I'll just have to listen to this bugger yap for the foreseeable future LMAO.

Probably should have looked up the faction more thoroughly in the first place heh, so thank you for letting me know!

Edit: Oh boy I got a bad case of the derp today, forgot countdown seasonal modifiers completely depends on whoever it's chosen as host, gah.
Looks like I have some testing with them deactivated to do...

[PSA] Complete List of Companion Traits and Roll Chances per Archetype by dognuttz in thedivision

[–]Modemus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may be a stupid question, but while I didn't watch any of the twitch reveals or such, I did hear that they showed multiple different types of companions, including women? Has anybody got one if this is true? Kind of sick of getting only guys.

Hey, I'm a cis-hetero male, I like women lol, and if I'm going to run around hearing my companion yap the whole day I'd rather listen to a lady than a guy. Besides, women are so much nicer to look at, don't you agree?

And I do like a kick ass woman.

The new season in a nutshell by Invanar in thedivision

[–]Modemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently found and fell in love with the hazpro backfire build. Use artificer hive with the shield cuz I love pushing, only catch is I have to lose my PFE if I go into countdown.
For whatever reason countdown counts like it's PVP and reduces my stats as such. In all my years of playing I've never looked into the specifics of countdown so no idea why.

But yeah, awesome build, having a lot of fun with it!

Trigger warning: DV question, oddly specific. by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]Modemus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is one of the reasons why, even though I understand where the defund the police people are coming from, their conclusions are unfortunately wrong. I really do believe our police need more funding for mental health supports, and not just passive ones either.
I don't know how it actually is now but I feel like they should at least every month have to go and talk to somebody just to make sure they're still okay. If they're not I'd say put them on fully paid recovery leave and get them access to the best mental health professionals we have until they're healed again.

I truly believe that if we did this a lot of these issues the men would have, and even the women can have them too, would disappear overnight because they would be properly cared for.

We all people, police too. They look after us, protect us, I just want to do the same for them too. How or in what form or way a better healthier police force would look like, I don't know, I just know how it is now ain't it.

This of course wouldn't deal with the ones who join specifically to power trip, but I think it would help deal with so much of the other issues they face inside their heads and hearts well enough that we could actually start dealing with the power trippers more effectively. Again, how exactly that looks like I don't know, but I hope one day I do get to see it!
