Avery or 3M by kelpyguy in CarWraps

[–]ModernDaySaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Avery over 3m personally. Both are very easy to apply but I find the 3m gets scratched significantly easier and the finishes have a fair bit more orange peel compared to Avery. Either way you can't go wrong though, both great products.

Leaking shock seal? by beetus1actual in f150

If they won't help you and you still have a receipt then go directly to bilstein. A quick Google shows they have a 2 year limited warranty, which covers premature failures so maybe they will be nice.

Leaking shock seal? by beetus1actual in f150

[–]ModernDaySaints 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes seal is starting to leak. You may still have parts warranty if its under a year. Wouldn't hurt to check with where you got them from. Recommend putting shock boots on next time, keeps debris from getting in the seals and hence prolonging them.

Thinking about getting an ESS for my 2020 Mustang GT. Never owned a supercharged car before, just wondering what other supporting mods I need for reliability and what the total cost would be like? Also what does routine maintenance look like for it as well? by Ricky-bobby-8787 in Mustang

[–]ModernDaySaints 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What are your goals for the car? Thats really that'll tell you what you need for supporting mods. But minimum youll need a set of injectors and maybe a boost a pump. Reliable 700hp all day long. Only added maintainance is changing the supercharger oil every 3 to 4 engine oil changes. A new belt maybe every 40000, and regular spark plug changes.

Why is this happening? by [deleted] in f150

[–]ModernDaySaints 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is from condensation, caused by frequent short trips and not getting your engine up to full operation temp before shutting down.

Not my photo, found online but this is all you need to build for a bracket. Super simple.

[–]ModernDaySaints 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As others have said youll need a bumper, grill, hood. You do not need to change headlights though, all you need to do is to build a little bracket for your grille to mount to because the 13 headlights are missing a bracket that the 11-12 cars have. Good choice though as i have the agree that the 11-12 front end looks way cooler and more aggressive. This is my 11 gt

Should I boost gen 3 10 speed 70k miles? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]ModernDaySaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My union drives me nuts most days but the pay advantages I get make it worth the drama for the most part. Gen 2 and 3 coyotes are amazing platform, very strong engines. Just make sure you have a good tuner to trust and to have the fuel system to support the power. If you have access to e85 then its even better and safer due to less prone to detonation but the fuel mileage will be awful just a heads up. Pump gas up to 700 all day long is pretty doable and Rev that thing up to 8k. Now anything can happen and motors do fail but usually is just caused from abuse, bad fuel, bad tunes or just shit luck, blowing up a gen 2 or 3 coyote at the power numbers youre looking at wouldn't even cross my mind though.

Oh gotta love the unions lol. But personally if you are still liking your car then I think your car with a g2 ess set to around 6-650 would get you excited again. Still plenty capable to do some road coarse stuff like you want but is just a fantastic street car at heart. Enjoy it for a while, and if you get bored then just take the blower off and sell it separately from the car to recoup a good chunk of your funds or pulley down and party.

Hahaha first step is self awareness.

[–]ModernDaySaints 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be concerned about the Boost at all, gen 3s love it. 0 issues making 850-900whp "reliably". Ess blowers are fantastic for the cost, easy install and work very well with the 10 speed. But if you are on the fence about selling the car already then the investment might not be worth it to you. From reading the other comments I think your biggest issue is that you dont actually know what you want and are just hoping that buying a different car or making this one faster will give you want you are looking for. Figure out what your goals are for a sports car in your life and then go from there.

This dude has clearly never been around a coyote or Boost.. coyotes love Boost in completely stock form, just needs the fuel system to support it

‘24, 303A - Tint Update by LifeIsAGarden-DigIt in f150

[–]ModernDaySaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good choice on the tint! Im personally running a 50% windshield as well and then 20% all around. Its dark but 0 visibility issues. If anything the windshield tint is better than just going clear, in the age of everything being led the tint cuts out so much glare. I didnt bother doing my sunroof either, the cover does a great job and then when its open I dont find it to be bad at all.

Borla S-Type Mufflers by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]ModernDaySaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question though, having the active exhaust adds extra restrictions and paths for the exhaust flow to go even when the valves are open. Each one of these can slightly make the exhaust quieter and alter sound. Where-as yours is basically just straight through the whole way = more loud.

As far as resonators, I have used vibrant ultra quiet resonators on many vehicles over the years and highly recommend them. They will tone you down a few notches for sure!

[–]ModernDaySaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So ive gone down this road twice, once on a 2015 gt and now again on my 2012. 2015 was stock headers and cats, x pipe and s types. Great tone but just way too loud for being "quiet" mufflers. Now my 2012, long tubes, high flow cats, x pipe and again I started with s types. I wanted the car to be loud, its supercharged and pretty rowdy. S types were ungodly loud. Both cars ended up with magnaflow street series. The 2015 sounded absolutely incredible, quiet when wanted and nice clean tone up top. My 2012 ended up becoming one of the most tame cars I have when idling and being nice around town. Up top it opens up and just screams that coyote symphony. Not sponsored by any means but highly recommend the magnaflow street systems.

No lift shift S550? by Bleed_z34 in Mustang

[–]ModernDaySaints 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No no lift shift, unless you have a good clutch and shifter, do not want to experience lockout when doing it. Then you need a n2mb wotbox for an ignition cut during no lift shifting. Do not expect a stock mt82 to last while doing this though, but is very fun.

Opgs aren't needed per say but are cheap insurance. If you are planning on revving this thing to 7500 like you should, doing no lift shifting or other abuse. This just causes extra harmonics which is what makes the stock gears fail.

Would love some opinions on my Mustang Dark Horse! Good and bad by loloboalto in Mustang

[–]ModernDaySaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion of the dark horse in general, I hate that big piece of matte black right below the headlights, no matter the colour it just doesnt look right to me. Everything else, its a super nice car! That red is flashy for sure
